I grieve over this because I want to share with others the joy I have in Christ- it is not to judge you. I am sick at heart tonight about "christians" would be happy to see the lost in hell- understand where i am coming from here- and by the way, I asked Christians, so I will completely understand non-believers not understanding my question

thanks costashaza- at least some non-believers understand that I care about the person.

Don't you think it is ok to live your life in joy pleasing the Lord- and also have a burden for the lost, which can cause grief when someone denies Christ?

Jesus wept over Jerusalem- so I can weep as well- God gave me a heart for people- and yes, it is their choice if they accept Christ or not, but it is also my choice if I chose to care or not. God cared enough to send His Son.

I know that all have a choice where they will spend eternity- however my point here was that we should not rejoice when someone makes that choice-

in regards to that person that said they rejoice when souls go to hell, I can only pray for him/her. That is truly sad. Did that person claim to be a Christian?

I belong to a Bible study group and we're focusing on the OT this year. I think many Christians ignore the OT. The "OT God". Jesus said that He didn't come to abolish the law that His Father gave us. But I see more people just quoting "don't judge lest he be judged". Everyone says we are to tolerate everything. This is wrong. This is making sin seem okay.

I see Jesus explaining what the Father said so man can better understand it. Early Christians (followers) got then but over time Satan has been working his magic to mess Jesus' teachings. The NT reflects the OT. The OT covers many more years and generations than the NT does. I think in order for Christians to better understand Jesus' teachings, they have to know the OT as well. They go hand-in-hand.

God bless!

I have read most of the replies thus far and would love to respond not only to you dear but also some of the others.

Yes I too grieve when someone I know departs this world unprepaired to meet the saviour at the judgement seat. I greive for them and question myself. Being a Christian doesnt make me perfect only forgiven in the sight of a Holy God.

I would like to make just a few points. The first one being noone gets sent to Hell. People go to Hell in and by their own choosing. Thats right it is a choice left up to you as to where you spend eternity. You go to Hell not because of what you do but rather what you refuse to do, and that is beleive in and upon the Lord Jesus Christ and what he did on the cross. Christ is the son of God. The sacrifice that affords us the opprotunity to approach God without a mediator for he is the mediator. Christ paid a debt for us that we could not. He over came death, Hell and the grave. He who knew no sin became sin.

For those of you that think there are others ways to Heaven besides trusting in Jesus let me say that " the gods of this world have blinded you " Christ said I am the way the truth and the life, no man comes unto the father accept by me.

If you think there is another way you are sadly mistaken. If you think just beleiving in God will do it your wrong. My friend Satan not only believes in God he knows his name and visits him. ( read Job ) God and Satan talk. Satan was an angel controlling 1/3 of the heavenly hosts and God kicked him out. Believing in God wont save you. You must accept the son Jesus Christ.

Heaven is real and Hell is real and where you spend forever is entirely up to you. The Bible says that "for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" that means any and everyone. Works, money, religion, nor baptisim will save you, only faith and trust in the Lord and what he did. If you think baptisim saves you, let me direct you to the recount of the cross. The theif asked Christ to remember him when he came into his kingdom and the Lord said "today thou shalt be with me in paradise" . Salvation is real my friends.

For the atheists in the group let me say this you are logical.
If you beleive and trust in Christ and die to find out there really isnt a Heaven or Hell then you have lost nothing. However if in your stubornness refuse to beleive and wake up on the other side faced with judgement seeing with your own eyes there is a Heaven and a Hell and knowing you never gave your Heart to Jesus, well my friend you have lost it all. " what profit a man to gain the whole world and loose his own soul"

I hope my words touched someone and pray the Holy Spirit will convict a sinner and they will accept Christ tonight. God said his words were forever settled and they would not return unto him void....

amen

I don't rejoice over the possibility of any one ending in hell, but at the same time I don't grieve for them. They know what's at stake and still willfully choose to mock and sneer the very ones who pray for them. What did Christ say? Don't cast your pearls before the swine.

Adore him, this is a difficult moral issue for me.

I agree with you, I don't know of any decent Christian who rejoices at anyone who goes to hell. When I think of what hell may be like, I don't think I would want to see anyone go through eternal torment.

But, here is the dilemma. I don't want anyone to go to hell, but I know that especially in a place like this, trying to preach hellfire and brimstone never works. Most of the regulars understand the concept of how to become a Christian, but not everyone will accept it.

I was praying and meditating on this issue today, and you know what I felt God was saying on this issue? It's like the wife mentioned in the Bible with the unbelieving husband. Sometimes we need to show word and deed to show we care, instead of preaching at them. As I think in terms of the people on here, I would like everyone to go to heaven, but I also know that ultimately, they have to make the decision for themselves.

Why do you grieve over people who do not know Jesus.
I am Buddhist, I love Buddhism, Buddhism is the way for me. Do I think Buddhism is the way for you, no. Do I want to convert you- no. I am happy you found something that works for you. There are a lot of people who are just as sure that their way is the right way as you are. People only have problems with Christians when they force their religion upon them. They are happy being what they are, you are happy with what you are, just leave it at that.

Jesus said "blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted."
I think too many Christians are more distraught over the fact their baseball team lost a game than over the fact that millions are going off to eternal punishment.

It does make me a little sad when I see some one willingly walking into hell. God chooses the simple to humble the wise. Many people are wise in their own eyes and this pride will take them right into hell. This is very sad because they will not listen to any one but themselves.

firstly to be a christian means not to be found judging or grieving those who have not found Jesus - being a christian is to be found living your life according to Jesus's teachings - once you start doing that people will want to know why you are such a happy person and want to know more about what you believe in - then they in turn will find Jesus thru a testimony that is you the living breathing legacy of Jesus.

Very few. Many are comforted by the fact that there are now a thousand religions that offer alternatives. If God wasn't pleased with them, you know that he would shut them down like he did with Sodom & Gammorah.

While I do not rejoice over hell, I do grieve over the fact that there are those who think Jesus is the ONLY way to heaven. Why can't they just believe in God alone?
