Salsa, the condiment - chopped tomatoes, chile peppers, onions, garlic, cilantro, etc. - not dirty.

Salsa is the spicy condiment thaht you put on your food for example: tacos mmm delicious

Also its the meaning of the dance of the caribbean countrys, its fun you should try, by the way I know it because I m Mexican and Salsa its very normal in my country

It also name an essencial ingredient use in caribbean and latin cuisine consisting in tomato (puree, paste, or mashed) and other ingredients as: onion, cilantro, pepper, etc.

Literally translated - salsa means sauce, usually a spicy one. I think your friend is referring to Salsa dancing, which can sometimes be a form of dirty dancing.... sorta....kinda.... but not really.
