I have been suffering from Blood pressure and for that reason having Atenolol. Now I am caught by Diabetes. When I go for measurement of blood sugar level I get high level of sugar in my blood. Does ATENOLOL has effect on Sugar measurement of blood?

Atenelol has no effect on the measurement of blood glucose. It may mask symptoms of hypoglycemia. Your elevated blood glucose levels are not due to atenolol

No it does not I take ATENOLOL to slow my heart rate down and i am a diabetic

Under side effects, its says it may alter blood sugar levels.

Use cautiously in diabetics - may mask hypoglycemic symptoms
