Cause last time I was reading a bean salad recipe and there was a side note that it was best to use pinto& black beans and it said the red or kidney bean[not sure if it was red or kidney] was bad and it said the name of something that was in it. Gah, I know this sounds confusing..

but the thing I'm trying to find out is there a "healthiest" bean and a "dangerous" less health-benefits, if so..what are they? =]

Also for nuts, is there a healthier nut or are they all equal?
Which has less fat/calories?

I'm not too sure if there are any dangerous beans out there. I'm not a bean kind of guy meaning, I don't care much for beans. But I do love nuts.

They are all pretty healthy as far as providing protein and are the healthier fats. Walnuts are known to have a better amount of polyunsaturated fats which is very good for your body. Almonds are known to be very beneficial for lowering the bad cholesterol and elevating the good cholesterol in your body.

Macadamias are low in protein but have a good amount of mono unsaturated fats, which are also beneficial.

All nuts are relatively low in saturated fats which means it's a healthier snack than potato chips for example. The number of calories for all nuts are pretty much the same (between 160 and 200 per oz), but where the calories are is the difference. If you aren't allergic, I'd try to feast on as much as you can. But note that they do contain fat so a lot of nuts could make you gain weight.

There are good and bad things about the legumes (beans and nuts), but usually the good is more than the bad. They're also a guilt-free way of getting protein. If you want to get technical, I guess you can check out the nutrition facts box on the packages. But, they're all good.

It's a toxin called phytohaemagglutin-it's found in all baens, just more in red kidney beans. It is degraded in any case by boiling for 10 minutes.
All nuts are healthy in moderation-they are high in fat but it is polyunsaturated.

sort of on this topic; if you use flax seeds they must be ground in order to obtain any nutrients from them

...and as far as i know any kind of bean or nut is ok.
