Both are dried grapes friend. However there is a little difference.

The SULTANA is a SOFT, JUICY, AMBER COLOURED fruit with a VERY SWEET flavour. It's largely produced from a SEEDLESS WHITE GRAPE and varies in shape from round to oval according to variety. Main producing countries: Turkey, Australia, Greece, Iran, South Africa.
The word RAISIN comes form the Latin racemus, which means 'a cluster of grapes or berries'. The raisin is DARK BROWN and WRINKLED with a SWEET MELLOW FLAVOUR and is produced from UNSEEDED or SEEDED, WHITE or BLACK GRAPES. Main producing countries/regions: California, South Africa, Afghanistan, Chile, Australia.

CURRANTS are Dried, BLACK, SEEDLESS GRAPES. All currants derive from the same variety of grape known as the Corinth and this is from where the word currant originated. They are much smaller than either the sultana or the raisin. Main producing countries: Greece is responsible for 89% of the world currant crop. Other producing countries include South Africa, Australia and USA

Currants are not dried grapes! Raisins are dried grapes.

Currants grow on bushes. They are little translucent red berries about the size of a small pea that grow on bushes, not on vines or in pendulous clusters like grapes. My sister has a low hedge of currant bushes in her front yard that I helped plant years ago. She also has grapes along a fence. 2 distinctly different things. Champagne grapes may be about the size of currants when they are dried but I have never seen champagne grapes dried or for sale anywhere I have ever been.

Currants are tart. Raisins are sweet.
Currants are small, raisins are larger.

Dried currants and raisins are similar in that you can make many of the same things with them. Dried currents are quite a bit tarter than raisins, though so if you are going to substitute one for the other adjust the sugar or other sweeteners accordingly.

Currants are small dried berries, a little bigger tham a lentil. Almost always dark in colour.

Raisins are dried Grapes. Colour may differ depending on the colour of the original fruit.

The Raisins are a soul group (I've seen 'em on TV) whereas currents are just dehydrated grapes and can't sing to save their lives.

Raisins are dried grapes. Currents are currents, a fruit of their own type.

Cheers.

A raisin is a dried grape. A currant is a member of the RIBES family like a gooseberry. When it is dried it can look a lot like a small raisin.

You can eat a rasin and get a shock from a current. Groan!
