Either way you have to eat HEALTHY! I know vegetarians who eat very healthy and others who eat pasta for almost every meal!
On the other hand, some people who eat meat eat very healthy, mostly chicken & fish and others who eat burgers most of the time. You just have to be healthy. If you do decide to be a vegetarian make sure you get protein! like nuts, peanut butter, beans.

If you are interested I would say go for it at least for a week to see if you enjoy it but keep in mind that the detox process can take up to a month so you may experience some cleansing during your bowel movements. Being vegetarian has given me a lot more energy, I've lost 20 lbs in the first two years and have leveled out my weight in the last three, My cholesterol is much lower and at a healthy level, and I feel much better knowing I don't contribute to the suffering of so many animals.

Well it really is a personal choice and you should look at how you eat now. The vegetarian lifestyle requires more of your own skills in the kitchen, careful shopping and a tough hide (really because people tend to be mean when they hear you are veg). If you are looking at it to gain more energy you will need to tailor your diet to have a balance of the same nutrients you are eating now and increasing some that you may be missing entirely. Peruse the VegWeb.com site for some good ideas of the nutrients you need and make the decision base don the foods and things you can eat as well as can you give up the things you need to to be truly veg. When i first started a veg lifestyle I started slow and let myself cheat and have a burger once in a while but since I told myself it was OK I found I didn't crave it as much as I thought and switching was easy. You know yourself and it is a big commitment. Think about it and if you can have a buddy switch with you it will be loads easier. Good Luck!

Sure you should try! If you develop a craving for fried chicken or a steak, then go ahead and have it. Then go back to the vegetarian diet. In other words, it doesn't have to be a big stressful thing, but something that you will enjoy. You will probably lose weight, have more energy, your skin will get clear and soft, even period cramps get a little better. Good luck!

I have been a vegetarian for only 4 months, but I love it! I'm already used to not eating meat, even though its not that long ago that I did. I already feel a dramatic difference in my energy level and my health! Its so great! Good luck.

I've been a vegetarian for a year and a half and vegan for 6 months...so the changes that i have saw are weight loss and more energy. Its like people are against vegans and vegetarians because most arent getting enough protein simply because they arent eating balanced meals.
Also, you have to have motivation for becoming one...like you are against animal cruelty. google meat your meat...and watch it.

I'm 13 and have been vegetarian since I was 9... I eat a lot more than my non-veggie siblings, but have about the same energy wise as them. I also get sick a lot less than them but that might be coincidence. Good luck.

being a vegetarian isn't just something you randomly decide to give a whirl. it takes a lot of discipline. it means not eating anything derived from an animal. meat and sometimes eggs, sea food, and also dairy products such as cheese. my friend is vegan and doesn't even eat chocolate. if you want a healthy and energetic lifestyle just don't eat junk food. i don't really buy how "healthier it is" when your cutting our all those foods filled with protein you need and should be eating for what.. peanuts? honestly i don't see why people put themselves through that. but if you really want to try it then go for it your decision

Go ahead and give it a try. As long as your health doesn't suffer as a result. I'm a meat eater myself but I certainly understand why people chose to become vegetarian or that other thing, vegan? Just please don't become a zealot that condemns meat loving folks like me.

You will need to find a way to factor in protein .
Even the Dali Lama had to give up vegetarian due to health issues .
Veggie is OK , but some very healthy people eat No veggies ( like the Mongolian people , Alaskan natives etc ) .
