I don't like squash, broccoli, beets, or asparagus, but I would be open to trying others. I would like some ideas that would help me incorporate more fruits and veggies in my fast-paced life. An easy to prepare recipe would be great. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Fresh and raw: carrots, celery, grape/cherry tomatoes, apples, bananas, apricots, strawberries, grapes, blueberries, red or yellow bell pepper, cucumbers, peaches, plums, oranges, pineapple, cantaloupe, watermelon, spinach.

Try veggies with your favorite light salad dressing. Put some peanut butter or pimento cheese on celery.

Most fresh fruits are always quick and easy too. And many grocery stores have ready-to-eat fruits already cut for you such as pineapple, many types of berries, melons, and grapes.

You can try canned veggies: Green beans, peas, carrots, corn, spinach and many more.

Even canned fruit: pineapple, peaches, tomatoes, fruit mixes. They have individual snack packs too.

Try making a veggie soup - just sautee some onion and garlic, throw in a bunch of veggies and some veg*an stock, cook away and blend as you like. You could promise yourself to have at least a cup a day, keep in the fridge and heat it up as you need it.

Fast paced life - smoothies, juices! Quick, easy breakfasts. The best smoothie base consists of frozen banana and either a milk alternative or juice, add whichever fruits you like and maybe some ground nuts/seeds for extra goodies. I recommend ground flax or an LSA blend (flax (also known as linseed), sunflower seeds and almonds).

How about committing to have at least two or three (whatever is comfortable) different veggies with each meal? I've just decided that no matter what, I'm going to get a big salad, and a good serve of cooked veggies each day.

Plain steamed veggies are great, just jazz them up with some groovy sauces > vegan mayo, vegan ranch, tahini, blackbean - whatever!

Hope this helps. It's a pity you don't like broc, I hear that leafy greens are amazing veggies for health. In any case, focus on getting a broad spectrum of colours from your veg - the reason they're so lovely and colourful is due to their vitamin and mineral content.

Just avoid squash, broccoli, beets, and asparagus, and check out the produce aisle, and choose the fruits and veggies you might think you'd like. Fruits are the easiest. Try a Fuji apple- crisp, and not too sour and sweet. Just cruise around the produce section and really check out what you think you'd like to try. I'm a vegetarian, but I cannot stand cauliflower, artichokes, or cabbage. Just look for fruits and veggies that you LIKE. Good luck to you.

How about this, every time you prepare a meal make sure there is at least one vegetable present, that takes up 25 % of your plate.

Every time you are hungry for a snack, don't reach for chips or other junk foods, eat fruits and vegetables. They will satisfy your hunger and you may be suprised to find you like it better than salty chips. Try things like toast with all natural peanut butter and banana slices, yogurt with fresh fruit inside, veggies and dip, even a small wrap with lettuce and veggies and some salad dressing does the trick. Fruit by themselves are good. The key is variety. Stick with what you like but try at least one new fruit or vegetable a week.

I hope I helped.

I give them to my dog occasionally. Like if I'm eating an apple or banana, I'll give him a little peace. He really loves carrots! He gets a baby carrot maybe once a week. I also give him a small bit of avocado and celery when I have them. Fruits and veggies are the only human food he is allowed to have. The dog food that I feed him already has fruits and vegetables in them and so do his dog treats. Make sure you don't give them the seeds though as they can cause intestinal problems such as blockages.

Lose the weight with fruit
First we think it's best to focus on feeling good. Secondly to remind that in order to live a healthy and energetic life in a body that is fit to do that job, attempting to lose weight only will not be the key. There are some other changes you might want to bring into your life. In order to have the cells of your body function properly they have to receive the right nutritious elements and toxins must be kept away from them as much as possible and should be disposed of properly. In order to reach that goal we have the following recommendations for you:
1) Consume as much as you can of the 'right nutrition';
2) Avoid as much as you can of the 'wrong nutrition';
3) Exercise moderately;
4) Be happy with every small change you've been able to make permanently;
5) Don't make weight loss more complicated as it is.

1) Consume as much as you can of the 'right nutrition'
After many research a great deal of scientists agree that:
raw fruits and (cooked) vegetables are the only right nutrition for human beings.
If you want to succeed in living a truly healthy life the best thing to do is to consume as much of the 'right nutrition' as possible each day. The more raw fruits and (cooked) vegetables you eat, the more your appetite for them increases and you might end up feeding your body with nothing but the right nutrition!
If you don't consume five pieces of fresh fruit a day yet (raw or squeezed) and you want to lose some weight permanently in a period of, say, six weeks (this period depends on your current eating pattern) the best thing to do is eat (or squeeze) those five fruits every day. If you haven’t consumed that much healthy food for a long time, it is most likely that your body starts to detoxify. You could even get sick!

Green Smoothies!!! 1-2 cups water, 1 handful of greens such as spinach or romaine lettuce and 2 pieces of fruit (bananas for example).
These are so nutritious and give you sky-rocketing energy. They're perfect for busy people and they give you tons of nutrition and minerals. It's hard for people to get Greens into their diet and this is a great way.

Make a couple of big batches in the morning. Drink it for breakfast and then take the rest with you for the day with some ice in it or take a little cooler with you. YUM!

Carry dried fruits with you to snack on instead of chips, cookies or fast food. I keep dried fruit in my car. You never know when you'll be stranded.

Cabbage soup stores well for up to a week:

1 head cabbage - cubed
5-6 carrots - cubed
celery
1 bell pepper, sliced
can of stewed tomatoes
mushroom/veggie bullion
salt to taste
Scallions (green onions)

Boil the carrots and celery in 6 cups of water. Add bullion, stewed tomatoes and salt to taste. When veggies are tender, add bell peppers, then cabbage. Boil for 10 minutes. Add chopped green onions.

You can store this soup for up to a week in the refrigerator and take it to work for lunch. Heats up well in a microwave.

You can add jalapenoes if you want, for a bite.

Make smoothies with carrots, grapes, orange, etc.

Eat pea pods, celery, bamboo shoots, either raw with dip or cook them in the food you eat with sphagetti or rice or in a soup.

Food should be eated in a relaxed manner, Your body doesn't rush things does it? It works regularly and keeps you healthy(unless you feed someting unhealthy, or drink unhealthy). Why should you rush to eat? Eat in a relaxed way, enjoy every bite of it, and chew the food. Don't swallow and rush while you are eating.

Eat healthy, and be well. If you want you can get organic dried fruits from Whole foods, Trader Joe's, or other organic food store(where they are not added with Sulphur or other additives which is bad for your health).
