if you ask me, I can't stomach to eat it, it's just too cruel and evil if I may say so.

floozy_niki, only cruel and evil people can do unthinkable things to living things, may they have souls or none. the fact that they can feel is enough for you to see that they can experience pain too, sadly they can't protest and defend themselves. if you were that fish, I bet you wouldn't want that to be done to you. be thankful you are human, have respect for life and all living things. I really don't like people who are evil enough to do and condone cruelty to any living creatures.

by the way, floozy_niki, expensive delicacy is not the issue here, but the respect for life, and the tendency of humans to be cruel and evil for the sake of their own selfishness. but, basing from the answer you've given me, I don't think you understand a thing I am saying.

I love sashimi, but this...YUCK!
It is "cruel and evil."

there's a particular style of fish for sashimi and sushi, you desire the main as much as date ideal grade a1 fish. So those issues like poison and bacteria do no longer take place. The sushi chefs would desire to attend to the fish in an extremely careful way so no person fall sick from the uncooked fish. it is why i'm getting my sushi from a sushi eating place and not the food market.

Although I would not personally eat the Ying-Yang fish (I do think it's cruel), I would not admonish other cultures' beliefs because mine is different.

Just a thought: how is this different from boiling a live lobster here in the U.S.? Many, including animal rights activists, claim it is cruel to boil the lobster alive.

And yes, I eat raw fish like sashimi. And yes, I love it...

Yes, I eat raw fish. Unless a person is a vegetarian, how could she say eating something raw is cruel, but that it's not if it's cooked? Humans became omnivores in nature. It's natural to eat meat. The earliest meat eaters almost certainly did not cook it. If it's the idea of eating something raw that bothers you, just think of it this way: vegetables are usually tastier if not cooked very long or if they are raw. Fish might just be the same. TRY IT. You don't HAVE to like it, but TRY IT before you say you don't like it.

You're right. Much as I love sashimi, there's no way I can swallow that! As personal rule, I do not eat anything that is specially killed or slaughtered for my consumption. Though I'm not very religious, I only eat the meat of an animal that is already dead when I purchased it.

You don't mention if you're a vegetarian or a vegan. If you eat chicken, beef, pork, etc....than what is the difference? I feel for the fish, but we do have to eat. I'm not overly Religious, but Jesus gave his people fish to eat. If God didn't want us to eat fish, he wouldn't have done that.

Still, I respect people who don't eat animals. But there is no way I can live without my sushi.

Too many here are judgmental and have never had occasion to kill their food.
That fish like it or not is 'dead'.. the fish and reptilian nervous system is not dependent on their brain.
A snake will twitch and twist for hours after it's head removed.
GET real folks.

I don't like the idea of eating raw fish for health reasons. IMHO, sashimi tastes just like cooked tuna so I'll just play it safe and eat cooked tuna.

THAT dish is an expensive delicacy.
It takes great skill to cook a fish and maintain it's life.
It sounds kinda morbid I know. I saw this on TV.
Be more open-minded. Food is food, not living things with souls.

Actually I think this is a delicacy in some Asian cuisine... I am not a vegetarian but no I could not eat this or pick out a live lobster.

No way! I would never eat raw fish, but some people love it. This particular one looks really nasty and sounds cruel!
