God Almighty commanded such across the boards destruction of the Canaanite people and their cattle, donkeys, & goats is that the people practiced bestiality with cattle, donkeys, & goats. The people burned their children up in sacrifice to their idol worship, and all the people within the walls of Jericho were occult believers. They were also sexually depraved. Meaning homosexuality, pedophilia, incest, and sex with animals was a daily given.

And even today, the surest and best way to destroy widespread disease is by fire. God Almighty did command that all the people and the animals to be quickly killed, so that they did not suffer slow death by fire.

God Almighty also commanded that Rahab, her brothers, father within her house to be spared, because Rahab had taken care of and had hidden Joshua's spies who had come to recon the town for its structural & military strengths & weaknesses.
