Supraventricular Tachycardias (AKA - supraventricular arrhythmia)

While it is not a disease, it is also not a symptom. Supraventricular arrhythmia is abnormal rhythms of the heart atrium. Please see the link for complete information.

The second link discusses arrhythmia's in general and any triggers.

SVT is a rapid rhythm of the heart in which the origin of the electrical signal is either the atria or the AV node.

It is not cause by any foods or meds, but can be triggered if your minerals (such as K, mag) are out of wack.

It shouldn't cause mood swings or depression but someone experiencing SVT wouldn't be in a good mood, think about your heart racing all the time, it would be hard to calm down and relax.

SVT is NOT a disease, it is a symptom. Generally caffeine can trigger an episode, and a high degree of emotional upset can also trigger one. The symptom is caused by irregularities in the electrical conduction of nerve impulses in the heart muscle, if severe enough it can require implantation of a pacemaker/defibrillator to keep the heart in normal sinus rhythm.
