also I've heard your immune system can fight off and get rid of hpv from 6-9months or it can stay for life. Has anyone had hpv and then it went away?

Yes.

I have had HPV for 6+ years. I had genital warts from it about a year and 1/2 ago. I treated them with Aldara cream for about 5 weeks and they went away. Luckily, they have never came back!

Doctors are now saying that the virus clears the body in 6 months- 2 years in 90% of people. There are no guarantees, but it's possible. According to the CDC, the virus usually (but not always) goes away on its own.

Yes that is possible just like some people contract herpes and only get one out break and can still pass it on.

Yes - but the Dr. told me the virus NEVER leaves and while you might not get more in the same spot - they are more than likely to appear in another area sometime in your life.
