Herpes isn't dangerous to a persons health at all! Of course the sores are painful and annoying, but they heal! At least it's not deadly like AIDS, or causes serious health and fertility problems like gonorrhea, syphilis, chlamydia, HPV, and others. There is no cure for herpes though, so once a person has the virus, they will always have it.

Herpes can STILL be spread to another person whether the person is on an outbreak or not.

Anti viral medication, like Valtrex, only HELPS prevent the spread of the virus, it doesn't guarantee it.

And, condoms only cover the man's penis, not his entire genital area. Since herpes can be spread by DIRECT skin to skin contact, the rubbing back and forth of the genital areas during sex is enough to spread the virus.

Condoms and anti viral medication DEFINITELY help prevent the spread of the virus, but nothing is a 100% guarentee (except abstinence).

There are couples out there who use condoms and anti viral medication and haven't spread it to their partner though. I was personally with one ex for almost 4 years and he never contracted the virus from me.

Good luck to you!

Valtrex is the brand name for a prescription drug called valacyclovir HCl used to treat genital and oral herpes, as well as shingles (herpes zoster). Some people take the medication every single day as part of a daily therapy regimen, which is said to reduce the number of outbreaks and the risk of spreading herpes. Others take Valtrex when breakouts occur for a period of a few days until symptoms disappear.

It's important to know that there is no cure for herpes at the present time. Anti-viral medications and Valtrex alternatives are just treatment options that can help manage the condition so that outbreaks are not as severe as they would be without treatment. Valtrex does not work for everyone, and is not recommended for the elderly, the infirm or people with kidney problems. Daily therapy can be costly as well, and most prescription medications cause one side effect or another.

Even if a partner is taking suppresive medication (ie valtrex) it is still possible to contract herpes.

Herpes does not have a cure and the medications only help in managing the symptoms. You contract herpes by direct contact with the infected area, condoms do not cover the entire gential area and you can still contract herpes while using condoms and valtrex.

There is no such thing as majorly at risk, you can only lower your risk to a high contagious lifelong virus. Think it through and if you think you have symptoms, make an appt while you have the symptoms for an acurate diagnosis or a blood test specifically for herpes. Good luck.

There is a possibility that you may have contracted the virus. You can still be contagious even though you do not have an outbreak. Make an appointment with your doctor you do not have to have an outbreak to get tested and ask for the blood test for HSV1 and HSV2. You can also carry the virus for years and infect others before you have your first outbreak.

that's an endemic. it may reason itchy, burning blisters on lips and the exterior around the lips and nostrils. The blisters dry into attractive scabs. So relaxing. And that's spelled herpes. there's a billboard for Heroes Sandwich shop out right here that some bored college pupil became to Herpes by utilising putting a tail on the "o". Immature, yet humorous.

I have it my wife doesn't have it been tested 3 times. We have been together for 5 years. I dont even get outbreaks anymore been 8 years i have had it. If I were you get tested for it but nothing you can do except to tell others before you have sex with them. I told my wife when we first met but she didn't really care it wasn't a big deal for us. Some people make a hugh deal over herpes and its not cancer. Lot worse things can happen to you.

It really depends on the person. I don't take valtrex, and have never given it to my boyfriend. With or without a condom. Also it is easier to spread to girls so you are at a higher risk.

herpes is not life threatening. it is a pain yes but it wont kill you. that being said, even with valtrex and condoms it is still possible to spread herpes. valtrex and condoms do reduce the risk significantly but it doesnt eliminate it. do some research.
