I also love the 80's! A girlfriend of mine got married last September and we threw her a party themed with Jem (an old 80's cartoon about girl rockers). I would do a costume party and people can come dressed as famous 80s stars and bands... The Breakfast Club, Risky Business, etc... Trivial Pursuit has a totally 80s edition... Have a biggest hair competition... Stuff like that...

FUN! I just recently had an 80s party too! I kept it simple with chips and dip and sort of thing. Cake you could have fun with, if you arent spectacular at cake decorating, check out a local party store and go through the kids section. They still have a lot 80s cartoon party supplies, so you could get cool cake decorations.
Outfits....mine, I wore black, lace trimmed leggings (from Target), and a black tank top. Then I took a grey Hane's t-shirt and cut out the neck and ripped it enough that it hung off one shoulder. I ratted my bangs so they were super high, then I put my hair in a side pony tail. I tied a big black bow around it, all Madonna style. Then I picked up a pair of jellies shoes from Urban Outfitters. You can buy them online or in the store.
For the baby, I would get her a headband with a bow on it. Unless she has a lot of hair by that time, in which case I would side pony, or pig tails on the top of her head all wild failing about. Then try and put her in any rocker themed clothes you can find.
Check out Claire's right now for jewelry. Neon is hot right now so you can get cheap jewelry with the era.
I also downloaded a bunch of 80s music videos and had those playing throughout the party. So you have the great music and the look too.
Do some kind of 80s trivia. I had gift bags filled with bubble tape, pop rocks, rock candy and nerds. I was able to find those at Michael's Craft Store.
You could also see about getting a poster of Michael Jackson. Then take an old winter glove (like those little stretchy ones). Decorate it with sequins, and play "Pin the Glove on Michael." Juvenile? Yes, but super fun! Or try having a moon walk competition, or the dance from the Thriller video!
Another thing I did was bought some neon colored poster board. Then I compiled all those "you know your 80s when..." email forwards. I made them into a big list (with pictures I printed at home) onto the poster board. I hung those around the room. Guests had fun moving from board to board. All night I would hear someone laugh "I remember that!" or "I used to do that!"
Also, ask guests to bring a photo of themselves from the 80s and display them on a table with of course, photos of you two.
Ive also listed a few websites below that I used that gave me great ideas, everything from games/favors to music selection!
Have fun!!!

Poofy hairsprayed hair, blue eyeshadow (for gals), unlaced shoes, scrunched socks, boat shoes (for guys), turtlenecks under sweatshirt with a necklace coming out of the turtleneck, tight jeans, destroyed jeans, neon anything, big plastic earrings, pastels for guys (like Miami Vice) and skinny ties. Blazers with pins and with the sleeves half rolled up. Doritos, Mt. Dew, Purple Passion if they still make it, wine coolers. Pictionary and Trivial Pursuit were popular back then. (If you get Trivial Pursuit, find the blue box, it was the original.) Chicken nuggets, frozen pizza. If he or you has an old Atari, try to hook that up and hold a tournament. Suzy boing boings (those headbands with the wires and styrofoam on top that looked like antannas.) For music, find a best-of the 80's CD set.

God, there's so much more!

For games you should hit up some garage sales and see if you can find some old games like girl talk and mall madness.... anything else that was popular then... you could also do like charades and you have to do a movie from the 80s... I dont know if you all would know any though.... crimped hair is great, you also have to rock the HUGE bangs and really spray them with hairspray have fun!
