I am impressed by the use of waves to generate electicity. I have the idea that they should put thousands of these generators (smaller versions) inside water mains. How does this sound

Unfortunately it takes a large amount of energy to pump that water through the water mains.

If you put electrical generators in there, all that you accomplish is to increase the amount of energy required to push water through the water mains.

Since those generators do not operate at 100% efficiency you would actually lose energy not make energy..


With respect to electricity from wave energy, although you can make some energy from the ocean waves, it is very expensive.

You would have riots in the streets if you increased electricity rates high enough to pay for electrical energy generated by ocean waves.

pumping the water for mains pressure is already a big electrical load, it would be impracticle unless it is running down a mountain or something...
