It's not a good idea to mix alcohol with Metronidazole (Flagyl). Metronidazole is used to treat and cure the STD Trichomoniasis and also cure BV (bacterial vaginosis), which only affects women. Mixing the two can cause really bad cramps, stomach pain, and vomiting.

Also, mixing antibiotics with alcohol can sometimes cause nausea, vomiting, headaches and convulsions. It kind of depends on the person, the amount of alcohol, and how well your body responds to the mixture.

The best bet (and probably the safest) is to just avoid alcohol if you can while you are on any antibiotics or metronidazole. Most antibiotic treatments only last 7 - 10 days anyway.

Good luck!

It is a bad idea to drink alcohol with any medicine. Your pharmacist can give you a printed sheet of information about the interactions of other medicines and alcohol with your medicine. 99.9% of these will say, "AVOID ALCOHOL".
