I already know what I am cooking, and it's nothing special (typical work-week meal), but I want to have a nice romantic meal with my man tonight at home. What are some simple ways I can spruce up the dining room to give it a more romantic feel?

Don't waste your time telling me WHAT to cook..that wasn't the question. I already have a meal planned out, as stated in the question's details. I appreciate those who have read and comprehended my question. Thank you.

Find a beautiful quilt or table cloth. Add cloth napkins in a complimentary color. Top with your best serving ware and add both water and wine goblets. For a center piece, fresh flowers are always lovely, but you can also incorporate fruit with flowers, or a candle arrangement. Look around the dining room. Are there some places to tuck some greenery and perhaps light candles or place some tiny white lights? Have you favorite CD's ready to turn on. Since men are also olfactory creatures, you might consider setting about baking a vanilla cake with cinnamon before he gets home so that when he walks in his senses are assaulted with the wonderful, homey smells of something baking. Fresh bread works the same miracles too! Dress in something that shows off your best parts, such as cleavage or legs and greet him at the door with a big hug and juicy kiss, along with his favorite drink. Have fun, and turn the lights low!

Serve dinner on your finer plates (or china). Fresh flowers, cloth napkins, candlelight and lights lowered. Have some soft romantic music playing in the background. Serve him in nothing but an apron and high heels! That way you can have desert before the main course! Enjoy!

Candles, dim lights, soft music (Barry white hehe), a sexy dress, a little note for him on the table. You could set him up when we walks in the door and have him follow little notes with clues (romantic ones) until you finds you seated at a beautifully decorated table with a wonderful meal on it (or in the bedroom ;).
Just have fun and be sure to tell him how much he means to you, that will make it romantic in and of itself.

Put your dinner on Fine China, rose petals on the table, wine, candles only or white Christmas lights, hang some lingerie around the room, and serve your dinner in some sexy lingerie!
Enjoy your evening ; )

Set up an end table outside under the trees provided they are by your porch and you have a porch. Then get an ice cream bar and chill out there. It's the scene that will make sense.

wine makes everything romantic - and unscented candles if you want the mood to be set, cause you don't want scented ones to intefere w/ the smell of a delicious meal.
steak (I prefer bison), potato quarters baked in the oven w/ olive oil, rosemary & garlic, and some veggies like asparagus or broccoli.
