I'm assuming that your pregnancy is welcomed and that you're not concerned with what everyone else is thinking about it, right? At 12 weeks, you may or may not be showing, so wear something festive and something comfortable. Is your party for a birthday or to celebrate your pregnancy? Does anyone else know about the pregnancy? If so, then let your cousin throw you a birthday party with a "baby's coming" theme. Its a little early to have a baby shower, but you could. So, August is hot, if you have a pool, enjoy it! If you don't then find an air-conditioned place and have lots of fresh flowers and greenery around. Pick your favorite color(s) and have balloons, or flowers, or candles, accentuate them. For food, keep it fresh and keep it simple! If you don't have morning sickness, then enjoy whatever tempts you. If you do have morning sickness, keep with mild foods. Appetizers such as cheese and crackers, fresh fruit and vege platters, sliced deli meats and rolls might be a low cost alternative. For dessert, cake or cupcakes. And, make a great non-alcoholic punch. One of my favorites is Toranni Raspberry syrup mixed with San Pelligrino water and lime. Enjoy!

You could have a pool party (if you have a pool that is!) Some people were saying partying isn't appropriate when you're pregnant and I really guess that depends on what people mean by "partying"!!!! There's nothing wrong with having a good time, and a birthday party when friends and family. You didn't say you were going out to drink and get wasted dancing on tables! Jeez people! Partying while pregnant is perfectly fine! LOL Relax, just have a good time and don't be dumb and drink or do anything. . . . Anyhow, it's a little early to do a combine baby shower and birthday party, so in my opinion I would hold off on that. Just do something nice. You could all go out to a really fancy restaurant maybe that's always fun! I hope you enjoy it!

I agree with one answer, to combine the birthday and baby shower together. Presents that are useful for you and the baby will make you happy. Because you get what you want, and what you'll need for the baby. It works out.

well, um. If you are pregnant you probably shouldn't be "partying". Maybe you should go out to dinner with friends family whoever. Or have an afternoon gathering, but partying 12 weeks pregnatn isnt appropriate
