I have to agree, meat eaters come in here and harass vegetarians/vegans, and then have the nerve to say that we harass, and push our beliefs on them.

There are so many trolls on here now that it has pushed out the vegetarians and vegan that try and answer questions. I, myself stick around to be sure that omni's aren't answering perspective vegetarians and giving them all the wrong info(you know what I am talking about-protein, b12, etc). I actually saw a question awhile back where at least 10 omni answered with invalid/myths/etc before any vegetarian even answered.

Omni's think it is ok to be in this area, but watch all "heck" break loose if vegetarians and vegans began answering questions in cooking&recipes, or other food topics, saying how meat is bad, and unhealthy to every person looking for information on how to cook a roast.

Its a total double standard. I know for the most part(or at least I hope) that the majority of people out there are tolerant of others beliefs, and the only reason it seems as if every omni on here is a troll is because the tolerant ones don't post hateful things. I completely believe that many of the vegetarian/vegan haters are probably intolerant of other people, and their religion, race, creed, etc, but it is less taboo to post hateful remarks about people's diet than their ethnicity/religion/etc. I will always feel a little sorry for these people, their ignorance must limit them in so many ways. I couldn't imagine my hate for someone consuming so much of me that I had to post hateful remarks on a question board.

See I deal with this on a daily basis. Everyone is always so concerned about my diet. It's like Chill Out People... I eat what I wanna eat.

I personally prefer Veg over meat for the simple fact I dislike fat in my meat... so if there is visible fat *trust* this girl is not going to eat it.

But I feel you on how people can be so annoying when they really should keep their noses in their own business.

I guess they have nothing better to do than to busy themselves with my diet... hehehe

Every time I mention something about vegetarianism everyone accuses me of attacking meat eaters.

Spirulina (a complete protein) has 12 TIMES the digestible protein as beef.

I personally think meat is very inefficient (2,500 gallons of water produce 1 pound of beef).

I'm not a vegan. I just like food and I don't care if there's meat in it or not. My husband and I have vegan friends that we LOVE to cook for.

People who harrass others about what they choose to eat are compensating for something small in their own lives.

the other day, a co-worker kept chanting "vegan girl" at me like it was some disease... i mean, i wasn't rude enough to chant "mullet head" everytime she walked by... instead, i just smiled. :o)

the harrassment can go both ways, but i've witnessed more vegetarians and vegans being harrassed. live and let live. i don't see why it's such a big friggin' debate all the time.

while i admit that some of the trolls' questions are amusing, they are just people who have nothing better to do than stir up trouble.

I'm with you. Why do they care what someone else is or isn't putting in their bodies?

It's so strange. When I simply mention that I'm "vegan" (which I hate labels, meat eaters tend to get all defensive and weided out as if I'm attacking them or telling them what to do. NO. I simply mentioned MY lifestyle. It's so weird.

And then. . .when they talk about how much they love the taste of animals, it's perfectly okay and acceptable. But when I talk about how much I love my lifestyle and how much health I've gained from it, it's considered "preaching."

Get over it.

This is in regards to "micromegas" answer:

Meat is not the only source of protein and amino acids!

“Good” and “bad” proteins
Another great misconception is that vegetable protein is inferior to meat protein. In the 1950s scientists classified meat protein as “first class” and vegetable protein as “second class”. However, this ideas has since been completely disproved, because vegetable proteins have been found to be equally as effective and nutritious as meat proteins; now this distinction has been discarded. In fact, some vegetarian foods, such as the incredibly protein-rich soybean, have twice the amount of protein found in meat! (Soybeans are 40% protein, whereas even the leanest cut of beefsteak has only 20% usable protein.)
Many nuts, seeds and beans contain 30% protein:
FOOD (100 gms.)------Grams of protein
Soymilk (powdered)--41 gms protein 41.8
Soybeanes (dry)-----31.4
Milk (powdered)------26.4
Peanuts-------------26
Beans---------------24.7
Beef----------------20.2
Chicken-------------18.6
Lamb---------------16.8

To one of those other answers- instead of eating the cow to get the nutrients out of the grass, juice the grass and get the benefits without killing the cow or ingesting all that fat. He said eating grazing animals was a free meal- how many tons of grain went into feeding that animal that could've fed starving families? Yeah, I'm sick of getting weird looks when you say you're veggie. If you eat foi grois you're exotic, veggie you're a weirdo. come on!

I agree with you. I'm tired of people debating with us. It's our choice, and they need to respect it, because we respect theirs. Right now I'm writing an essay on what to do if you are made fun of or challenged by being a vegetarian or a vegan. They are allowed to have their opinions, but their logic is usually very off, you're right.

In short: Yes.

John aka Sister Margaret (who appears to be up to his old tricks), much like the other trolls, has A LOT of free time on his hands. Instead of being productive with his free time (I believe he must be unemployed), he decides to be an annoying little child on this forum.

Just block them, and they will be removed.
