I'm asking just out of curiosity. I don't know much about being a vegetarian, or vegan. I don't plan on being one either, if that makes any difference. anyways, I read someone asking about how to cut the grass without hurting bugs. So then do people try not to step on the grass because it might kill an insect, or do people ever think that maybe a bee was killed so as to pollenate the veggies that they are eating. (I know from being on plenty farms that they grab honey bees, stab them with a metal piece, and rub them one by one on the flowers of plants to pollenate. Sometimes there aren't enough bees in a specific area, or its to expensive to rent them or purchase them from a bee farm) So then, While I do realize plants don't feel pain, insects im sure do. Does that impact what you eat as well?

The basic point of vegetarian has to do with what one eats, nothing more, because there is a definition for that word. Everything else depends on the person. Someone who is Buddhist may spend more time thinking about the bugs on the ground due to their spiritual state of mind. Of course an atheist could also do that to if they want.

Everyone is different, but people live in the real world where they only have limited control over what everyone/thing else does.

First no offense taken ..As a long time vegan, I can tell you that being a vegan is " striving " to do the best you can to avoid all aspects of life which involve the exploitation, use for food ,clothing or any other purpose ,experimentation , by products, etc of all animals including bees .. When given the choice and opportunity we will buy from a veganistic farm .. We are certainly not perfect and sometimes may be unaware of an individual farm using inhumane practices .. If we are made aware and find out we would not use that specific grower .. Example : with household cleaners and cosmetics .. we check out companies that do not test or use animal ingredients in their products, but on occasion we are duped or a company changes it policies.. when this happens and as soon as we know we will stop using them .. We do our Best to live In meat oriented country , as a minority striving for a better life for all ..I hope this helps you to understand a bit about vegans .. last I would like to add many Veggies I know also do volunteer work and help out charities geared at the Human animal .. thanks for asking

I think the practise with the bees you mentioned is horrible. I live in Greece, where horticulture is more pure and natural, and I am quite sure this is not happening here. Also, to answer your question, I do try not to step on insects when I walk. I am not completely vegetarian, although I've tried to be, but I do feel bad killing animals for any reason, especially when the reason is greed and profit, like what you mentioned with the bees, or furs, etc.

there are different reasons why people become vegetarians.not all are so because of gruesome killings of animals.some are for religious.some are for health.some are because animal products are JUST NOT GOOD FOR YOU.And some are because it doesn't taste so good.
