Well, I went from omnivore to vegan over night and I was in my teens too. I'm perfectly healthy. So I think that if you think it's the right thing to do, you should go for it. You'll feel healthier and better about yourself.

Be warned though, you'll be the weirdo amongst your friends. Get ready to hear some serious trash talk about vegans.

It's up to you.

I do have to say the whole protein thing up there is a myth. Where do the animals you eat get their protein from? Plants. You're only eating second-hand protein. Protein they consumed to make their own. Everything has protein in it because it's the building blocks of life. If you're worried too much about protein, I highly suggest quinoa. It's a complete protein and a nutritional powerhouse. Other than that, I suggest reading the book China Study by T. Colin Campbell, Ph.D., to see the effects of high protein diets on the body, especially animal protein.

I've never felt healthier since becoming vegan.

It's great that you are even thinking of this, but at your age you need to really nourish your growing body. Being a vegan is not easy.
It is exta tricky for those cooking for you and when you go out and to friends houses. It can embarass your hosts because some of them just won't know what to do and then food becomes a big issue not a pleasure. Eating out anywhere will be a nightmare. You'll end up spending half your life reading food labels and saying no to stuff because you don't know what's in it. I'd stick with going veggie as that is easier to do, easier to stay healthy, easier for others to understand (nobody would even notice a pizza ordered without meat) and you don't have to wear yucky synthetic shoes.

It's a very healthy choice, but it isn't for everyone. I'm a vegetarian, and I limit my dairy intake as well, but I'm not cut-out for veganism. Are you already a vegetarian? If not, you should try that first. Take it slowly and see how you like it. Then see how veganism is.

I went vegan and it caused it bit of headaches, it's really hard when you go vegan when your still growing, I got under weight and had to take protein shakes and had to go on this really annoying strict diet
Glad that your taking a interest in it, but from my experience (I'm 15-went vegan at 14 for only 4 months) it's not worth it, how about just being vegetarian for now and then when your older going vegan =)

It's definetly your own choice. If you're not already a vegetarian, try that first, then cut out eggs and later dairy. Make sure you look up what things you need to eat every day to get the right vitamins, don't just live on soda and chips and meat substitutes.

It's pretty much your choice. If you can live with out eating meat then go for it. I am vegan myself and I love it and i think it is a good to be vagan.

No you definitely should not. I once sat at a dinner party with all vegans and vegetarians. They all looked awful. Droopy skin and dull eyes and hair. These people were middle aged, but you would have thought they were many years older. They didn't seem very lively either. They just sat there eating plates of lettuce while the rest of us had steak. The worst was the way they all gobbled up the desserts. They were wild for carbs, which kept them pudgy. Don't even think of doing this to yourself! Eat a well rounded diet and enjoy life.
