I did some research on this. The end results if there is not any bleeding in her brain, the worst thing would be a coma or a vegatable like state. The least of the symtoms she could have is a bad headache from time to time. She could have paralyzation in parts of her body prefably effecting only one side of the body. She could do just wonderfully sometimes people snap out of things and its just like a miracle. So good luck.

I'm surprised that a doctor would predict that someone who had a stroke is going to make a "full recovery," especially if she's still on the ventilator. I wonder if you've misunderstood something. I agree with the person who said you should trust your doctor though.

The acute phase of stroke can resolve with minimal damage as your sister is receiving ICU medical care. As she gradually weaned from ventilator. Hemorrhage can be resolved and ventricles regained. Physiotherapy after the acute stage ends can help her to get as close to normal as possible. I've seen similar cases who finally after adequate time of therapy get a happy end of the stroke story. Have faith and pray for that.

Best wishes The human body is amazing, the human spirit is remarkable and LOVE can carry anyone to the next level.
Believe that she will recover. PLAN for it.
Tell her about the plans your making on the road to recovery.
We get to sit at your house watching "DVDs together binging on popcorn and laughing at funny movies.
Laughter heals. honestly it does. My husband is a doctor and after experiencing a day with Patch Adam's staff at the institute and hospital in Virgina, he is a better doctor because of it.

It all depends on how old she is. If she is in the hospital the Dr can do everything in his power to make her have the necessary tests and the like. If it is a matter of life and death and she is unable to verbally give her consent, the next of kin can give the consent for anything that needs to be done.
I wish you and your sister well

she has every chance of full recovery. I could go into the particulars, but if you don't have any medical knowledge, you likely wouldn't understand, but trust her doctor, she will likely recover, it will just take some time.
