I would choose Matthew Fox (Jack from Lost), and he and I would make dessert together :D
Also Tenzin Gyatso (the Dalai Lama), because he could be the philosopher at the table (although if I'm drunk, I would be the philosopher); Gordon Brown, because it would give me a good opportunity to discuss his policy ideas, most of which I think would be good reforms and a definite improvement on the work of his predecessor; and Davina McCall, to discuss her excellent contributions to Question Time this week.
I'm single, so no partner's choices to predict :(

Mine would be all four Beatles. I met them once and they were all charming in their own way. Oh and a great band so they could perform afterwards. My wife would let me choose so she'd get Beethoven, W C Fields, Charlie Chaplin and George Formby. Ludwig so he could analyse what The Beatles were doing, W C Fields to keep us amused, Charlie Chaplin to explain his vast range of ideas and George Formby to play his ukulele and tell us tales of old Lancashire, besides George Harrison was a member of his fan club.

I would definitely choose Julia Child, for she is someone I always looked up to in the culinary world, (did you know she did not begin cooking until she was 35?)
Frank Mccourt for I love his style of story telling.
My dad....he passed away when I was 15. HE was an awesome man.
and lastly, I would have to say Benjamin Franklin. He was a remarkable player, inventor, writer, philanthropist and shithead.
My husband would choose Stephen Hawking for they think alike (weird, I know)
Ben Franklin also for he and I have both read numerous things about him.
His Dad for he passed away 8 years ago.
and finally maybe a woman gardener named Ruth Stark. She was an extremely bright woman whom he has read many things about. Arene't we boring?

Uh, well, I don't have a partner, so I'll just say mine.
Rasputin. (My favorite Russian mystic)
Nicolas Sarkozy. (France's president)
The Beatles (Yeah, all four of them, I just group them together as one person. They're my favorite band)
and Alton Brown (Basically the world's most kickass chef. He will be the one cooking the meal, because I can't.)
