No way to really know without having your blood tested.

Why, do you think you have it? What makes you think you have it?

Hi, it is very easy to diagnose diabetes, there are several criteria established for the diagnose and you must have yor blood sugar level tested. You can go to see a doctor for this or there you can use a glucometer at home.

All depends on the valuo you get and if you have any symptoms or not. These symptoms may include: being thristy all the time (or more than usual, this is called polidipsia), utinating a lot (or more than usual, this is called poliuria), weight loss, eating a lot (polifagia).

The normal value of glucose in your blood is from 70 to a 100. Is you get a value from 101 and 125 you are glucose intolerant (not diabetic) and you have to do a test called glucose oral tolerance, for this you will have to go to a doctor.

If you get a value greater than 125 and you have symptoms (especially the ones listed above) you have diabetes. In you get a value greater than 125 and have no symptoms you will have to re take the test on a different day. If you get another value greater than 125 you have diabetes, if you get one below 125 you must take a glucose oral tolerance test.

These criteria belong to the IDF (International Diabetes Federation) and are used world wide. You can go to http://www.idf.org to read more about diabetes.

There are several types of diabetes and if you have positive test results (more than 100 for intolerance to glucose and 125 for diabetes) you must see an endocrinologist as soon as possible, because the sooner you get medication the best you will prevent complications due to diabetes.

The classic symptoms of diabetes include being overly tired and sick, having to urinate frequently, feeling very thirsty and hungry, and losing weight. The way these symptoms develop differs for Type I and Type II diabetes. In Type I diabetes, they usually show up slowly in children or adolescents over a period of a few days or weeks. In Type II diabetes, they develop even more slowly, over a period of years, in adults over the age of forty. Adults often do not realize they have diabetes mellitus. The condition may be discovered only during a routine physical examination for some other problem.

Ok this is a very difficult question even though I myself am diabetic since last two years and now I am 20 years old !
This is difficult because Diabetes has so many symtoms you can't even imagine !
some of them are :
Some diabetes symptoms include:

Frequent urination
Excessive thirst
Extreme hunger
Unusual weight loss
Increased fatigue
Irritability
Blurry vision

But you can even differentiate symtoms on basis of diabetes (i.e Type I or Type II)
but in my case it couldn't be differentiated coz i am both type I and type II, which is very rare ! which means i am on both insulin and medicines !

Type 1 Diabetes Symptoms
Frequent urination
Excessive thirst
Extreme hunger
Unusual weight loss
Increased fatigue
Irritability
Blurry vision

Type 2 Diabetes Symptoms
Blurry vision
Cuts or sores that are slow to heal
Itchy skin, yeast infections
Increased thirst
Dry mouth
Need to urinate often
Leg pain

not every diabetic patient experiences every symptom they feel some of these !
but one won't believe i experienced almost every symptom (except itcy skin) still i couldn't diagnose it on time (coz i have long medical history)

Hypoglycemia Symptoms
It is important for all individuals, not only diabetics, to know the symptoms of Hypoglycemia, or low blood sugar.

results in dryness of the mouth and dizziness, sometimes combined with feeling faint. Moderate hypoglycemia results in neurological symptoms that are caused by disruption normal brain functioning. In instances of severe, the sufferer experiences the disorientation seen with moderate hypoglycermia to the extent that medical intervention is required and severe hypoglycemia can progress to the individual undergoing loss of consciousness and coma.

Another interesting fact from my life is that i had many hypoglycemia symptoms before diagnosis but i couldn't understand it worst was once when i was on a school trip to a village, i didn't know what to do and i was feelin as if about to faint but then a teacher of mine gave me glucose biscuits and i was then feeling much better !
It was two years from now !

Hope this info helps !

A blood test will confirm. Normally two samples are taken, one early morning before you eat anything (fasting blood sugar sample) and the second sample about 1 and half to two hours after you have a hearty breakfast or lunch (Post Prandial Blood Sugar sample). Corresponding urine samples are also collected and the test results are correlated by the doctor with your general health symptoms. If needed, the doctor will prescribe you tablets and or insulin injections.

You may need to make substantial changes in your lifestyle too.

The very best way would be to see your doctor and let him run tests. If you are thinking you have it, don't wait. The sooner you can take care of it, the better your health will be. Good luck to you. (I am a diabetic)

my father is a doctor so i know what i'm saying
you feel tired most of the time
you pee alot more than usual
if you eat much sugar you will feel like fainted
the average of sugar in the blood is high so your body tries to get rid of it by sweat / urine / tears ...
so it will have a little bit sugar but of course you cannot taste it
if you had all that go and make an analysation for the blood it will give you the truth

There isn't any way to tell. Maybe you're eating a lot more than normal, or getting tired more easily. The best thing to do is to go to the doctors and have a test for it.

You need to go get a blood test. Some sign I had were tingling in feet and hands, my head would hurt after I ate, peeing alot, and last I would get sick after eating sweets, pasta and white breads. I am type 2. If you think you are you should see your doctor soon.

Well my father has it he says the doctor can test you for it. Also if you go to the eye doctor and they look in the back of the eye they can tell that way also ;-)

The doctor has a test to show if you are borderline, Type 2, or full blown.
