After a few events recently, I've been wondering if I could have diabetes. Well, I've always drunk a lot [as in fluids, not alcohol!], which I've been told by my doctor that it's good that I drink a lot but I don't think he ran any diabetes tests. But for a little while now, I've started to feel a bit weak/faint after I've eaten a meal and not had a dessert afterwards. I went out for a meal about an hour ago and I didn't have a desert, I came home about half an hour ago and I started to feel a bit like this - it's difficult to describe the feeling, just kind of weak and may be a little dizzy. Anyway, so I went and got a caramel shortcake from the cupboard and I've started to feel a bit better, but not totally. It only happens occasionally, but it's still something. .. would just feel a bit odd talking to her about it. When I told her that I felt dizzy just now she said, 'oh that's odd.' And I don't know, it would just feel strange asking her to go to the doctors so they could test for diabetes - do you know what I mean?
Anyway, what are your opinions?

In the first place: diabetes takes several days of testing, not just being a little dizzy. You have to have a bunch of tests over a period of time to see what your actual sugar levels are. To many people don't seem to understand this. It's not that simple.

Your feelings could be from your bodies cholesterol at work. Do you realize your body actually goes into a slight shock when you eat, it has to deal with a lot of things. Like a Carmel Roll you mentioned. It involves your liver, your kidneys and your small intestine along with several other organs.
They all have a job to do and, when they start working, the body goes into a slight shock, that's probably what you feel. Some people get the chills after eating a large meal, some can't keep awake, everyone differs.

See your doctor and tell him your fears, he'll explain it better then I.

but cant be sure from your desciption, it's very limited.
well on second thought diabetes symptoms are very tricky !
well personally
i don't think you have diabetes coz you can't have low blood sugar within half an hour after your meal !
Even i am diabetic and I can't have any desserts after meal and that doesn't results to low sugar !
As a matter of fact having dessert can result to hyperglycemia (i.e high blood sugar) which can cause irritatingly severe head ache !
Do notice do you ever have headache or blurring vision after you intake something sweet !

well, one should never leave any space for doubts esp. if regarding health ! So my advise still be go consult a good doctor !
