I don't know where you live, but try contacting your local Elks Lodge. I know that our lodge collects the tabs to support The Ronald McDonald Houses.

Leave the tabs on the can when you bring the can to be recycled. You don't get any extra for them because they just aren't very valuable.
You might want to tell the hospital that offering extra for the tabs isn't going help them and is just a waste of money.

My children's school collects them for Ronald McDonald's House. They then take them to the recycling center and the proceeds go to help children. So he's right. He does get a higher return for the tabs by helping ill children.

If you are not worried about any monetary return, I can take them to Cincinnati Childrens Hospital where I work. We recycle them for the Ronald McDonald house where we have longterm out of town families stay while receiving treatment for their children. The tabs help pay for the family's stay, as we do not charge them for the use of the rooms there. Please email me if you have any questions. jeager_fairy@msn.com

I know that Heartland Blood Centers collects them too, probably for Ronald McDonald House also. There is one in Geneva on Rt.38 if that is close for you. While you're at it, you can give some blood, too.

The Shriners collect them and use them as a donation to their childrens' burn hospitals. Recycle and help the hospitals! It's win-win!
