Remember when they were in the fancy restaurant trying to recruit the band member - they were eating shrimp cocktail and rolls. "How much for your women - the little girls?"

Four fried chickens and a Coke. How about gruel? That's probably what the penguins fed them in the orphanage. Also, Dixie food, crawdads and bourbon chicken. Look up "New Orleans Cuisine" on Yahoo. You'll get a wealth of ideas from the birthplace of the blues. Have fun. Sounds like a neat party.

For decorations, you could have police car stuff - or maybe set things up to look like a big stage... I have to agree with the other person who answered - you've GOT to have toast (white, plain), four fried chickens, and Coke! lol Too funny! Ladies' costumes are hard for this one... all I can think of is just dressing in period clothes - you could watch the scene in which Ray Charles is singing and everybody's dancing to get some clothing ideas...there are a bunch of women in that sequence. Have a GREAT party!

BBQ ribs would be good. just remember its a party not a sit down dinner, right? so try to keep things bite sized and not so messy. if you do ribs do them short rib style. if you do fried chicken, why not fry up chunks of chicken breast which is more manageable than a piece of fried chicken? the bread is fine. i think fried macaroni and cheese bites would be good too (think cheesecake factory or Fridays, they both serve this item).
have fun.

Watch that old movie again, was it "Animal House"?, and include anything that John Belushi puts on his tray before the food fight on your menu.
