If you haven't started taking your medicine yet - you should now.

I find warm bathes help me out a lot. Take a nice warm bubble bath and when you are done dry your genital area off with a blow dryer. I know, it sounds stupid but it works and my doctor told me to do it too. Rubbing your genital area dry with a towel can spread the sores. Then put on some nice soft cotton underwear and some nice pajama pants. Avoid having anything real tight fitting on. You can also try and put an ice pack on to try and numb the pain a little bit. And you can always take some Ibuprofen for the pain. Good luck to you! I know how bad it can get!

I got clinically diagnosed with the herpes simplex virus (type 2) about six years ago, when I was still attending college and had a stupid one-night stand. I just made a massive mistake that one time and suddenly I felt like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date guys again. In the end, who wants to go out with someone that has sores around her you-know-what? But since a friend shared this video everything changed https://tr.im/TreatmentHERPES2o15XSdL

Not only was I able to clear away all traces of the hsv from my body in less than 21 days, but I was also able to begin dating once more. I even met the man of my dreams. This method provided me the opportunity to be happy and experience real love. Now I want to enable you too by sharing this with the whole World.

To reduce discomfort from herpes sores:

Take warm sitz baths or wash the area with warm water 3 or 4 times a day.

In between sitz baths, keep the sores clean and dry.

Using a hair dryer to dry off the sores may be more comfortable than using a towel.

Wear cotton underpants, which absorb moisture better than those made from synthetic material.

Nonprescription medications may reduce the pain and fever from genital herpes.

I am absolutely terrified and I feel so alone. I just found out last week that I tested positive for hsv1 and 2. I have been with the same man for the past 10 years and within the last year found out that he has cheated on me with numerous women. I am so scared that I can give it to my children by kissing them and them eating with me...I feel like my whole life has changed. And even though the nurses, my doctor, and websites say that a lot of people have it I still feel like I am by myself. My self esteem has dropped and I feel like I have been used up. But now, My life is very happy.

If you can, get prescription medication that you can take before an outbreak so it will lessen your symptoms. Use some Aveeno products, as it contains oatmeal which helps alleviate any itching, as well as helps dry up the sores if they are seeping.

Watch your diet as well. A lot of times the foods you eat can aggravate your situation (i.e. peanuts, drinking coffee, etc.) (This goes for genital herpes as well as herpes cold sores).

You might need a prescribed creme to relieve the itching. Otherwise, I would suggest an hydrocortisone creme.
