Chlamydia is a bacteria spread through sex. It's diagnosed through a test (for a girl it's a swab of the cervix, for a guy they swab the urethra). It should be part of a sexually active woman's annual gynecological exam. You may or may not have any symptoms from it. Guys are usually carriers with no symptoms, so they won't know they have it unless they've been screened for STD's. Many girls can go undetected as well (I learned from experience.) It's treated with a course of antibiotics.
The best thing to do is have safe sex until you and your partner have both been screened.
