Clindamycin ALERT: Notify Doc if diarrhea occurs because it can cause severe, even life-threatening Colitis ( an inflammation of the bowel ) Adverse Reactions: nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain ( which many antibiotics can cause). You should be taking the capsule form with a full glass of water to prevent irritation of the esophagus( the tube that leads to the stomach). Clindamycin should be used cautiously with patients' with Kidney, Liver disease, Asthma, history of Gastrointestinal disease,or significant allergies. The problem with knowing side effects/adverse reactions to any medication, is that you may think that you have some of them. Side effects are NOT a reaction/allergy. I hope that this helps. You can always ask your Pharmacist.

You do not mention what route you are taking the clindamyacin by, so I am assuming the oral route. rxlist.com is a very good source for (rather technical) information on medications; my nursing students use it. Here is a link to the page listing side effects, including uncommon ones, to Cleocin HCL (clindamycin): http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic/clindam_ad.htm.

Another source (this one lists the adverse effects for all routes) is http://www.metagenics.com/ADAM/41/029700.html#Adverse%20Reactions
You will need to page about halfway down to find "Adverse Effects".

I got this same drug from my dentist and its worst side effects where diarrhea, and can put you in the hospital. I demanded Augumentin because I took it before and he gave it to me, and it worked. You need to call him or your doctor.
