Not all sushi is raw fish (I know that) and I don't hate it because of the fish, I just hate it period. I think it's a bad compo of food all rolled in one.
I never liked it (I'm asian), but most people I know love it.
I don't get it...
Anyone feel the same way?

I have two kiddos and one of my favorite phrases has been "You must try something new every day."

I have eaten sushi on MANY occasions because of this very reason (to prove my point). I usally end up throwing up into my mouth and having to swallow it down just to show them that I "tried something new".

The thought of sushi makes me queasy. If someone at the table has it on their plate, my appetite disappears. I hate raw fish, I hate seaweed and I hate that CRAPPY peanut sauce you're supposed to dip it in. So, yes, I hate sushi as much, if not more than you do.

The only way you'd get me to eat it is if you chicken fried it and put some cocktail sauce next to it.

I love sushi. At first I thought "Oh, please, what's all the fuss about it?", and the first time I tried it was...okay. Not good, not really bad, just okay. But then I had it again, and the third time (which was at a completely different restaurant than the first and second) I really liked it. Today you could call me something of a sushi fan. I like the fish, the seaweed, and especially the rice. I don't find anything strange about eating raw fish, I guess, provided that it is prepared and served correctly. I can't promise you I wouldn't be queasy about sashimi, though (which I haven't had yet).

It doesn't need to be authentic Japanese, either- I had a roll with smoked salmon, cream cheese, and avocado once, and oh, was it DELICIOUS! You would never think cream cheese and vinegared rice would go together, but they do!

Now for foods I don't like...shrimp dip, ranch dressing, salads of all kinds, no thank you.

I don't understand why raw fish costs more than fish that's been seasoned and lightly grilled, and served with a cream sauce.

Now, I'm just an old country boy, but where I come from, raw fish is "bait".

Heck no, I'm not gonna touch sushi. Fry that stuff up and serve it with some hushpuppies and greens, maybe.

No. I actually like a fresh roll of sushi. Some people hate it, but that's OK. Everybody's different, I guess.

I am okay with sushi, but prefer sashimi. Fish and rice, with a little wasabi and soy sauce. Can't beat it. I really enjoy unagi, which I often recommend to people since it is cooked. The various tunas are by far my favorite though.

Sushi is my favorite food. But I also love Asians--men and women. So drop by my place tonight and we'll play chutes and ladders.
