Most likely you have an allergy to a chemical in the cigarettes. The Mary Jane is more "natural" per say, and not treated with formaldehyde and all those other nasty things. You shouldn't smoke anything to be honest but that is likely the reason.

in my opinion smoking anything doesn't have a great significance on asthma.
let me explain, lets go back 25 years. way back then there were a lot more smokers than there are now, in fact, things were no where near as sanitised as they are now and guess what, more children have asthma in the world today then there ever was back then.
i'm not saying smoking is good for you but i am saying people are so against smoking these days, they never stop and think that the air they're breathing is that polluted, a bit of cig smoke is like a drop in the ocean

marijuana is a natural decongestant and that is why you can tolerate it better. I would advise you not to smoke it, because smoke is still going to have an effect on your asthma. It would be best if you baked it in brownies or make it into tea. You will still get the same effect.

MJ relaxes your muscles so I'd assume it would relax your throat as well. My sister has it too and she and I had this conversation a few years ago and that's the only thing that made sense to us.
