I had a double by pass in May and have not had a period since. can anyone tell me if this could be the cause.

absolutely. lost mine for 6 months after open heart surgery at 22,
this kind of surgery is a massive shock to the system . Be kind to yourself.

when you have something so serious happening to your body your body kind of goes into a shock mode.
My guess is that due to the intense surgery your body has gone into shock and has caused you to miss your period.
But I would speak to your doctor though. It doesnt sound TOO serious though so dont stress out and goodluck!

I don't have any experience with periods but bypass surgery is about as major as it gets and effects everything. I wouldn't be surprised at all if that were the cause.

In my case my "desire" was pretty much shot for 6 months.

no. by pass sugery is due to blockages with the arieries that go to your heart you might want to ask your.dr. on the missed period on that matter but it wasnt from heart sugery . in my opion?
