As far as I know, Pugs are prone to getting Pneumonia if they are not raised and taken care of properly. I had a friend who bought a Pug puppy and, being a RN, I could tell that something was wrong with his breathing. My friend had an appt. within 2 wks. but, I told him to call the Vet to have the Pug pup be seen sooner. Well, the pup had Pneumonia in both lungs. Max, the Pug, was on medication for nearly a month. The cost of resolving Max's illness was quite high!! If you do purchase a Pug, go to a reputable breeder. If there are alot of pups and the condition of the breeders' home is unclean, DON"T purchase the Pug. I hope that this helps some. Good Luck!!! Pugs are sooo cute !!

I would not name what they have got a respiring "situation", up to it's an "difficulty". They are guy-made puppies and their snouts are too quick. A very intelligent character has already supplied a hyperlink for that, that is well. Pugs are very pleasant and love men and women- adults and kids alike. I've in no way heard of a natural-bred one being agressive (biting). However, they do shed greater than nearly all different breeds. They do snore while they're pleased, now not whilst they're asleep. This will also be fairly loud and maintain you wakeful at night time while you are now not used to it. Also, as with all 'worm-eyed' breed, their eyes can pop out in their sockets, which sounds extra gross than it truthfully could also be. For this to occur, a further puppy (a significant one) typically bites or presses across the eye socket reasonably. No different damage would arise. You have got to speak to no less than three Pug breeders earlier than you're making your last selection. I have a Pug. I bred her for a whilst, however Pugs also are notoriously dangerous mum and dad. My Pug has introduced me many, many, many pleased reminiscences. They are very intelligent, well puppies.

some pugs do. You can contact a breeder and they would be able to explain more to you then possible anyone out here. Unless you get a Vet to answer your question.

Sometimes, due to breeding.
Also (it's gross, but..) they can get yeast infections in the folds of their faces so you have to clean them regularly.

Any dog that has the smushed-type face can have breathing problems. They don't all have them, but it is more likely.
