Why are you asking meat eaters a question in this section when it is clearly marked "Vegetarian and Vegan"?

Seafood is meat. Meat is another word for flesh and since animals have flesh, it's meat. Please stop spreading false information.

Yes, b/c I've done it before. I went for 2 years with out eating meat of any kind. After abut 2 years I started eating seafood again. Then I added chicken back to my diet. I'm basically a Chicken and Seafood girl these days! I love it!

I'd minimise it, but I think it's too tough to go cold turkey over night... Esspecially since most people who eat meat, won't know what substitutions to eat to gain the B12 and protein they would have gotten from meat.

I think without guidance and education on what alternatives their are, It would be more harmful for someone to just Leave meat for a year.

Argue all you like, but for a novice this is NO easy thing to do.
I eat meat, and will for many more years. I do limit my meat intake and eat more pulses grains veg and fruit, but this is purely due to trying to be healthy. Meat is good for you, but everything in moderation.
And seafood is meat according to the Vegans. I don't care about this..
I will say Chicken and Fish is a healthier alternative to Red Meat.

Sure, I could do it, but I"m only a partial meat eater, fish and poultry. And fish IS meat.....fish are animals, so eating fish is a type of meat. Never understood why some people think seafood isn't meat?

If it weren't for the fact that I work in a kitchen and I have to taste just about everything everyone cooks, heck yeah!
With the fish addition, I don't think I would even miss meat. Yeah I was the chef of a steakhouse in Chicago, but before that I hadn't eaten red meat in almost a year, and I can take or leave chicken, so your challenge would almost be too easy.

I guess I would have to change my motto from PORKFAT RULES!!!!!!!!!! to something a little more "granola"

I'm not a meat eater, I'm an omnivore. No, I wouldn't give up meat unless it was for health reasons. And seafood is meat.

I did a while back. I gave up all meat except fish for 2 years. Now I eat meat again. I got tired of cooking 2 meals every night - one for me and one for my meat eating husband.

Actually, I did this once, gave up meat for a year and a half! I did continue to eat fish (couldn't live without seafood! lol!). I learned then how to cook with a lot more fresh veggies and eat more fruits and grains. It was a great learning experience. In fact, when I went back to meat, my first meal was prime rib (one of my faves) and it made me sick!
I am back to eating meat, cuz I do like it, but I eat a LOT less of it now! Not eating meat really taught me to me more creative with my food, and how to eat healthier.

Nope. I would starve to death... I'm allergic to shellfish, which is the ONLY kind of seafood I like. I think tofu is gross, and I can only eat beans in small quantities.

I gave up meat for a week and couldn't deal. There's only so much peanut butter one can eat.
