Yes, it can cause that if it's taken daily and frequently to those "at risk". If it's only a few days a month for cramps you should be ok. For extra protection eat something or drink milk before taking it.

You should be ok if you're just going to take it for a few days every month. That warning is on the bottle because of a few studies that found that this class of drugs increased heart attack and stroke in older patients who had risk factors for these diseases.
Naproxen can cause the stomach to bleed, but it usually occurs from chronic use - people who have pain all the time and use it every day. Make sure you are taking it with food - that will help with the stomach issues. Also, try taking the lowest dose that works for your cramps.

It says that because Naproxen is an aspirin-based drug. It can thin the blood and cause circulation problems. It's not put there to scare you, it's to warn people who may be already taking an aspirin or other anti-coagulation product or already have circulation problems.
You're young, and if you don't have heart or circulatory problems and take the medication as prescribed responsibly, your risks of complications are minimal. Just don't take it with any other aspirin-based products.
Just like other NSAIDs, it can irritate the stomach too. Eating before taking it can also help to reduce your risk of upset and bleeding.

I have been taking Naproxen for a couple of years now and I am OK, although I have heart problems and stomach problems from many years before taking Naproxen. I just think what would my life be like if I didn't take anti-inflamatories, answer, I would be unable to do my job and I would have a very poor quality of life.
You need to weigh the advantages against the disadvantages. Talk to your doctor if you are really concerned.

Yes, all NSAID medications can cause " NSAID induced peptic ulcers" when used used for a long time, and results in stomach bleeding (hematamesis).
I will recommend that you should take during MP only, along with an antacid.
There is nothing to worry about, as your doctor will be on guard after this prescription.
Discuss it with your doctor too, strongly recommended.

There are risks and benefits to any treatment. Using NSAID's like naproxen for dysmenorrhea is standard, but not without risks. You have to decide whether your cramps are bad enough to run the risk. If the pain is disabling, it may be worth it. If it's merely inconvenient, perhaps not.
