Of course! MILLIONS of people have genital herpes and MILLIONS of them have normal relationships.

I have had genital herpes for 6+ years. I was with one boyfriend for almost 4 years and I'm currently with a guy who I have been with for about a year and 1/2. We love each other, are completely happy, and have a great sex life!

Just because a person has genital herpes doesn't mean that can't have meaningful and happy relationships! They have every right to be happy, just like anyone else.

Yes, and one in four women has it anyway. I have herpes, I've told three men, it hasn't put anyone off yet. I have unprotected sex with my boyfriend, we just avoid outbreaks or any other symptoms I may have in between, it isn't wvwn an issue between us. My sister also has herpes, she and her husband have three children and it hasn't been an issue for her either. The people you have relationships with are different. There are those that are so scared of the stigma they run a mile, those who will get involved with you but always want to use protection forever, and those who take it in their stride and see it as a risk worth taking. I'm lucky I have the latter.

My mother got herpes from her first husband because he was cheating on her. She went on to marry my dad and they've been together for for over 25 years. She told him she had herpes after they got to know each other and he liked her enough to not judge her. (after all, she wasn't sleeping around or being promiscuous-she just got screwed over by someone she trusted) So I think so long as you're honest with people you can find someone who will love you enough to look past it. But if you lie they may be very angry and resent you. Just remember to practice safe sex and know that there is still a great possibility of transmitting herpes even when you do use condoms because it can be spread through skin-to-skin contact. Good luck.
