i am having a luau (obviously) and im 13 so i really don't want like real weird or complex foods. it won't be like an authentic luau so i kinda just want like normal party food but like summer food. so i need a main dish and snacks. thanks!

You could do pineapple pizza - otherwise I wouldn't serve it.
Fruit Pizza is also a good choice or a fruit salad.
Here are a couple of recipes:
Pineapple Cream Cheese Fluff
• 1 8 oz package cream cheese, slightly softened
• 1 can crushed pineapple, do not drain
• 1 large package instant vanilla pudding
• 1 12 oz bin of CoolWhip
Place cream cheese in medium sized bowl and mush into chunks with fork. Mix in crushed pineapple - with the juice. Add the pudding and mix together and then fold in the CoolWhip. Pour into a serving bowl and refrigerate. May also add drained mandarin oranges.
______________
Seven-Fruit Salad
• 1/2 cup lime juice
• 1 pint blueberries
• 1/2 cup water
• 1 pint fresh strawberries, sliced
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 1 1/2 cups watermelon balls
• 2 medium nectarines, thinly sliced
• 1 cup green grapes
• 1 large banana, thinly sliced
• 1 kiwifruit, peeled and chopped
In a bowl, combine the lime juice, water and sugar; stir until sugar is dissolved. Add nectarines and banana; toss to coat. In a 2-1/2 qt. glass bowl, combine the remaining fruits. Add nectarine mixture; stir gently. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.
____________
Fruit Punch
• 4 .13 oz pkgs unsweetened strawberry drink mix powder
• 2 46 oz cans pineapple juice
• 3 cups white sugar
• 4 quarts water
• 2 liters ginger ale
In a large punch bowl combine drink mix, pineapple juice, sugar and water. Stir until dissolved. Stir in the ginger ale.
___________
FRUIT PIZZA
• 2 pkgs. cream cheese
• 1 roll refrigerated sugar cookie dough
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• 1/2 c. sugar (or to taste)
Assorted fruit suggestions: Kiwi, strawberries, mandarin oranges, bananas, black or blue berries
Spread cookie dough over pizza pan. Cook the crust as directed on wrapper. In a bowl, microwave cream cheese until soft. Add vanilla and sugar. Spread cream cheese mixture on top of cooled cookie. Cut and lay fruit in circles. Serve immediately.

A hawaiian pizza is a must (Pizza Hut makes a very good one). Also, fruit salad, hot dogs (instead of the bread use sticks), coconut pie (you can buy it ready in any supermarket), jell-o in different colors, and if you and your friends like, get some shrimp.

you can do macaroni salad, 'tater salad. coleslaw.
have veggie trays with dips, cheese and pepperoni trays with crackers.
maybe a spinach dip if you guys like that, serve in a bread bowl.
maybe see if your mom or dad can help you carve a watermellon in to a basket or boat shape and serve fruit salad.
have burgers, dogs, kabobs, or ribs as a main dish. or see if you can find pulled pork in the grocery store... serve it in bbq sauce with buns for sandwiches.
have 7-up punch with a block of sherbert in it and serve it in cups with slices of oranges and pineapples as garnish

It would be nice to have something authentic, like a pu pu platter:
Bacon wrapped bananas grilled.
Bacon wrapped pineapple grilled.
Just to have the kids taste....
