most climbers wear clothes that are very similar to yoga-wear. often capri-length pants (depending on how you feel about those) are good because they protect your knees from scrapes (especially when you're just starting out) and keep you cooler than long pants. if you're adverse to the capri type pants, then shorts down to the knees (if you're a guy) or long pants would work. i'm opposed to loose-fitting shorts (especially on guys) because if you're on an cave-type wall, and i'm on the wrong side of you, and you've also decided to wear loose-fitting boxers, it's just an unpleasant scene. (that's showing too much skin.)
again, tops can be yoga-type tops, ranging from normal t-shirts (though you may want something non-cotton so you have some wicking benefits) or tank tops (it can get pretty warm in there). but you probably also want a long-sleeved layer. it can be chilly in climbing gyms, depending on what season / what time of day it is and whether or not you're warmed up yet.
have fun and good luck!

Most climbing gyms are like going to the beach. Guys with no shirts, girls with little bikinis and spandex shorts. The point is to strut your stuff while sweaty, buff and scantily clad. It's a good place to pick up.
But honestly, for indoors, it doesn't matter what you wear as long as it doesn't restrict your movements or make you sweat too much. Just as long as it's sexy...lol

Wear loose fitting pants or shorts. When I climb I get pretty hot so I would wear a comfortable top, and get some good shoes. You will climb better and you will like having your own shoes.

Yes I would so I wouldn't hurt my feet or have them broken.
