From the description of your symptoms, you don't sound like you are diabetic. Obviously, the only way to truly know is to go for medical tests.
If you don't think you need to see a doctor at this stage, just be aware that having a grandma that has diabetes puts you at greater risk. You need to be vigiliant about being healthy and taking diabetes prevention measures.

HI,
I am a diabetic, and the only way to tell is the doctor, you have to have fasting glucose test, or insulin tolerance. Every diabetic has different symptoms. if it goes undiagnosed, you could have problems down the road, heart problems, kidney, sores on your legs, blindness, amputation's, from poor circulation. If diabetes goes untreated, it's damaging all your vital organs. Don't take that chance. see a doctor & find out for sure. This is serious... beleive me I know!

Easy check your sugar, if over 125, you are considered diabetic, if between 120-125 you are prediabetic. Oh be sure you dont have anything on your fingers so that youll get a correct reading

Do you have a friend with diabetes (type 1 or 2)? You can ask them to check your blood sugar with their meter (new lancet, of course) - if the result is over 110, I would make an appointment with the doctor.

there is only ONE way to get a definitive diagnosis of diabetes. a blood test. to check glycosylated hemoglobin, or three finger stick tests done while fasting, three fasting finger sticks with a reading greater than 120 is also considered definitive. If you grandma had it, the you carry the gene for it.

There is no way you can be diagnosed from here, you need at least a urine test and in fact, over several days. It just doesn't work the way you think so "Go see you doctor" sorry

No. At 13, you would have type 1 and most likely severe symptoms. Your grandmother probably had adult-onset type 11.
