how soon symptoms occur after getting an STD depends widely on the type of STD

HIV doesn't usually start showing symptoms untill 6weeks after infection

Most bacterial STDs take a few days 3-4 to start showing symptoms because a takes a while for the bacteria to grow to a large enough number

Herpes usually shows up around 2-20 days after infection

On the whole I think your probably fine, what your probably feeling is just anxiety over finding out that someone you were with has an extensive list of sex partners. For you peace of mind go get tested but dont be surprised when it comes back negative.

I don't know all the symtoms of all the STD's or how quickly you could get symptoms. I know with herpes, you could show symptoms pretty quick though. However, I would just add my 2 cents and say why not just go down to the Dr. and get tested for all the STD's just to be safe. Make sure to request a Herpes type 1 and 2 test as well. Mostly all the test's can be done with a simple blood test. This way, you get peice of mind, and will know for sure. It's probably a good measure to get tested regularly as well. Ask your Dr. how often you should get tested. It's great that you used condoms though. Be safe, and Good luck!

Well you are probably just paranoid. STD's can show up after 36 hours of sexual intercourse. You used a condom and the symptoms you described don't sound like herpes, molluscum contagiosum, or HPV (the three viruses that are spread through skin to skin contact and not body fluids). I don't think you have an STD though. Get checked to be sure, especially if any lesions occur. I hope all goes well.

Symptoms can appear anywhere from days to months later. Depending on the disease, you might not recognize the symptoms, especially if they show up later rather than sooner. For some, the symptoms of syphilis are not recognized until the disease has done irreparable damage to the nervous system.

If you have doubts, get a physical and specifically ask for an STD screening. If you don't ask for it, a physician will not include the tests.

Man, that is funny. I'd blame your parents for the one problem. The odds of picking something up from a girl if you wore a condom are really low. The drive home from her place was probably more risky. Sleep well.

* Headache
* Diarrhea
* Swollen lymph glands
* Fever
* Fatigue
* Rash of various types, including seborrheic dermatitis

Note: At the time of diagnosis with HIV infection, many people have not experienced any symptoms.
