My girlfriend and I now have HPV because two doctors misdiagnosed it as a skin tag. I don't know if legal action is worth it because apparently it is difficult to diagnose...but I really need to find a good doctor so we can try and get rid of it. Where do I go to look?? We're losing a lot of faith in our healthcare system these days...

Hello-I used to work in public health at a family planning organization, and I have a couple of websites for you to check out,as I am not sure of your proximity to the places listed(and I am unsure if you have health insurance.)
Also,in my opinion, public health agencies are WAAAAY more thorough than many private providers when it comes to STD treatment-and they will lose funding if your confidentiality is breached. If you are minors, both of you can be treated/tested without parental consent under the mature minor law which is a federal law.
www.ppri.org
www.health.ri.gov/family/ofyss/fp/agencies.php
and if you are close to Mass. try HCSM.org and click on the family planning link.
Good luck!

Honestly, it depends. Do you have any private insurance? You can go to www.Findaphysician.com .... which is a good website. Another is google.com and log in your area and family medicine...like this.....
1. google.com
2. (exmpl.) family medicine doctors 77123

A range of doctors in family medicine will show up in your area. Just call them to set up an appointment for both of you to be treated at once, instead of going to a GYN, that in many cases, will only treat her. There are clinics you can go to that will treat STD's by appointment only. Check with your Department of Human Services in your area to find one for you if you have no insurance.

Hope this helps.

you might have more luck with answers if you give people at least a general idea of where you live.
