YES. For three days, I refused to tell anyone else what had happened and when I finally told my daughter, who had given me the kitten, I started bawling all over again. It was four months before I could talk about her without getting teary. Even writing this makes me weepy, and that's been five years. The one who was killed was replaced by three who never leave the house without a leash.

Of course. My whole family loves animals. Since I can remember, we've always had a dog and a cat. When I turned 18 and got a nice job, I got a cat to keep me company at my house. He was the best cat I've ever had. I think that he thought he was a dog, because he was always following my dog around and do what she did. He was very smart too. If I told him to go get in bed, he'd go into my room and wait for me. Anyways, on with the story...I got married and moved from the west coast to the east coast because my husband is in the military and I had to leave him behind with my parents. One day my mom called me in the afternoon, which is odd because she works and is never home at that time, to tell me that my cat had gotten run over by a car. I guess she felt so bad that she had to leave work because she couldn't stop crying. My poor husband didn't know what to do, I cried for 2 days.

If your talking about your cat dieing yes, my son gave me a ragdoll cat when I was very ill over 15 years ago and he was my care giver ever sinse and last year I lost him and to this day I miss him I feel like a large part of me died that day. I feel like I lost my heart and my soul and find it very hard to keep on going. If I did not have to take care of my 93 year old grandmother and did not have any children I think that I would have gone with him. I am sorry but I don't know if the pain and hurt ever goes away. Good luck and may god be with you and yours.

Yes. We bought a new house, and on moving day we didnt realize our cat had snuck into the moving van. When we arrived at the new place and opened the van door, she came flying out (apparently freaked out by the ride). We searched day & night with no luck. Having been an indoor cat, we were worried. A couple days passed and we thought she was gone for good. It was awful, we felt ike "bad parents". Then one morning, we opened the door, and there she was. She had someway found her way back to us. She didnt know the house or the neighborhood, so we were surprised. We were lucky, but I know those 2 days she was gone it was hard, especially for my wife. She blamed herself for not being more careful, cried, etc....I admit, I felt pretty bad too, but somehow I knew she'd be back, despite the fact the cat didnt know this new area. Im sorry for your loss, and hope you get a happy ending too.

My cat is been off since I got my puppy. They don't fight, but don't get along neither. My cat is not used to another pet in the house and my puppy is very jealous. My cat is losing weight and doesn't like being carried anymore... so I open the window for her and she goes to my neighbor's house for a while. She comes back when I take my puppy out or when the pup is sleeping. During these hours, despite the fact that I know where she is and that she's coming back, I miss her like crazy and I feel sad for not having her next to me and I sometimes feel angry at my pup for pushing her away. All I can hope for is for them to start liking each other in a while...

Of course you feel depressed. I even felt depressed when my guinea pig died. Our pets are very important to us, and we miss them when they die.
But we usually outlive out pets, and I think a great solution is to eventually get a new one - especially one that needs to be rescued from an animal shelter. A new kitty will cure your depression and you'll be giving an animal in need a wonderful home.
We lost our first cat to cancer - it was terrible. But now we have three cats (all rescues) and life is good again.
Feel better sweetie - and just know that your cat had a good life before it died. ((((hugs))))

Absolutely. I remember losing my baby for about 2 weeks and i cried every single day. They become part of the family. It's natural. All i can say is don't lose hope. I eventually found my cat about searching and putting up lots of posters and speaking with locals. I just hope your cat had some sort of id to make it a bit easier. Just remember, sometimes they do like to wander and be adventurous. Sometimes they come back when they are ready too.

Yes! I had a cat for about 7 or 8 years. He was the best cat ever! I got him in high school and he died while I was in college. I cried and sometimes I still miss him.

Yes, I lost cats and it is so sad. Fortunately both came back within a week. One disappeard and I never found her. Your cat may have found a new home. Don't dwell on this too long, just remember your cat. Your cat may return. Good Luck.

It is a cat's world & they come and go. I have one and he shows up every 3 months. Girl cats stay near home, but even they leave for greener area.
I had a girl cat come back two years later, only to leave again.
Some go in other homes and get out & come back you.
