Blush wine is made from red grapes but the skins have little contact with the pressed juice during fermentation thus producing a very light pink tinge to the finished wine.
Not to be confused with rosè wine.

It is a lighter bodied pink to light pink wine... usually fruity in taste with no tannins(the bitter taste red wines have)but there are some exeptions from Provence that are not sweet/fruity such as Bandol... made using red grapes like zinfandel, grenache, etc. where the grape skins which impart the color to red wines are removed as soon as the "blush" color is achieved
