In high school I didnt have very good grades and I ended up getting my GED after I failed senior year, but I have been attending a community college. My question is, if I maintain a 2.5-3.0 GPA while in community college will I be able to get a ROTC scholarship or will I automatically be passed over because of my lack of a high school diploma and lack of strong academic background? This is for you recruiters or ex-recruiters or just anybody else who has been or has known somebody with this problem. I know it says on the Army website a list of requirements but I would like to know some first hand information.

Oh and I plan on getting into a four year school of course before trying for the Army ROTC scholarship. SUNY Cortland to be exact in New York State.

I think you will have a chance. I needed a 2.5 in college to get one. Try the SMP program with the national guard and you will be in ROTC with college basically paid for.

Highly unlikely you will get a scholarship, as the competition is fierce.

I got into ROTC after a G.E.D., but Scholarships are scarce. You probably won't get one.
