There are a lot of good Turkish singers, it is hard to select just one. But since you asked for one good singer and not the best so I may choose Candan Erçetin. She has a nice voice and most of her songs are good. Of her nice songs, Elbette and Melek.

In the U.S. most people do not know of any Turkish singers.
In Latin America I think in general they only know of Tarkan...
the rest of the world, I can't say.

sorry but despite the fact that i'm turkish, i don't even have a favourite turkish group/singer! some turkish rockers are really advancing in their road to success, though... i cannot really spot talented pop singers other than sezen aksu, sertab erener, candan erçetin, maybe kenan doğulu etc.

well, my favs are Tarkan (i actually went to his concert a weekago - amazing performance!) and Mustafa Sandal, but also like Serdar Ortac, Celik etc ;o)
