crushed crackers, croutons, chips, bread crumbs. i would use like seasoned bread crumbs or crush those ritz chips things or if you have like left over croutons just crush those

Things that work well are tuna, put on towards the end of cooking to warm through.
Also bread crumbs make a good texture compliment to a pasta bake.

You could put crushed crisps on top to give a crunchy topping. I usually leave out the topping as I hate cheese!

saute some diced onions, mix with crushed cool flavoured Doritos
or
simmer some potato discs till just cooked, then lay on top and brush with butter
or
make a savoury crumble mix (omit the sugar and add a few herbs)

Brown up some ground beef, pork and veal. Spread it on top and cover with tomatoe sauce. Yum. Also, think of what you like on your pizza as any pizza topping would work. Bon appetite!

I have made it with both breadcrumbs and crisps both equally nice as it gives the bake a crunch!!

Have a try of mixing grated boiled egg,breadcrumbs,parsley and bound together with melted garlic butter or just butter and seasoned to taste.

as ehc11 said, crushed ready salted crisps. put them on before your sprinkle the cheese on top. its lovely.
