I would like to become a bartender and was wondering if the pay is better working at a strip club rather than working other places.

As an unexperienced newcomer, would I even be considered for a job at a place like that?

Is the money just as good working at a, let's say, Bennigans?

Im just trying to get a feel for what the best environment for me would be as well as be able to make the most money possible while trying to put myself through school and support my army disabled husband.

I dont care if I have to "dress the part" if I work in a strip club, and I can handle the drunken comments (the sober ones can be just as bad, lol) so lets not dwell on that, Im talking money facts.

And no, I would not consider being a stripper. lol. I know they make a crap load of money, but I just dont think I could bring myself to do it.

Strip club wouldn't be a good idea. Almost all of the drink orders go through a waitress so you won't get the big tips. Your best bet would be any type of bar/club that plays loud shitty music. These places tend to be packed with people who approach the bar only for a drink and tip a standard $1 per drink. Any bar where the patrons just sit in stools at the bar tend to receive one tip when the customer is finished drinking and these tips usually average out to less than $1 per drink. Hourly wages are the standard and may not be as high as you expect. This is because the owner knows you are collecting tips all night. You can maximize your income through prompt service. I personally love a bartender who gets to you quickly, makes up your order, and doesn't take her time about it. Myself and everyone I know will go out of our way to get served by the fastest bartender, which means more tips if that is you. Best of luck.

Well if ya have never tended a bar before, starting as a strip club wouldn't be best.. Find some hoppin bar that has lots of regulars and see if you can handle all the deppression and addiction that goes with these people's lives... If your not up for that work at a restuarant, although the money won't be a good. there is a lot of drama that goes along with the job so be prepared
