Contact your friend and see how he would feel if you started seeing her. Don't lose a friend over a piece of a##. You can get that elsewhere.

listen, i'm all up for just havin fun the question is how good a friens is your friend. if you really know his type then you can tell if she really REALLY ment something to him and if he plans on coming back and continuing the fling and turning it into something more, if so you'll land yourself in some deep s---t.
it also dipends on if this girl might be using you to get your friend jealous, if so that means she really is into him and then again you might be hurting them.
just pick up a phone and sms or e-mail your friend and casually ask him if it is over with her, or tell him that she seems to really be into you and based on his reaction you can play your game.
don't you wish life needed a lot less thinking and a lot more doing?!

Your good friend will probably meet other girls in Europe so I don't think he will care that much even because it wasn't so serious.

Put yourself in his shoes. How would you feel if you're friend slept with your girl?

You should respect your friend and stay away from her and be sure that you tell him what happened. If she tells him first she might turn it around and say YOU wanted to sleep with her.
