Does the Bible agree with those who teach that the Father and the Son are not separate and distinct individuals?
Matt. 26:39, “Going a little farther he [Jesus Christ] fell on his face and prayed, ‘My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.’” (If the Father and the Son were not distinct individuals, such a prayer would have been meaningless. Jesus would have been praying to himself, and his will would of necessity have been the Father’s will.)
John 8:17, 18, “[Jesus answered the Jewish Pharisees:] In your law it is written that the testimony of two men is true; I bear witness to myself, and the Father who sent me bears witness to me.” (So, Jesus definitely spoke of himself as being an individual separate and distinct from the Father.)

I am sure this is one of the most en lighting questions that l have come across on this platform. Hopefully there is someone out there who can help shed the light with simplicity and understanding. I will make an attempt nevertheless.
God is a triune being, i.e. composed as God the Father, God the Son,(who is His Word as well), and God the Holy Spirit. These three make up the Godhead and can be addressed as Elohin as in Genesis 1 verse 26. He says let Us, referring to His partners in being Word and Spirit. In John 1 verse 1 the Bible says, "..... the Word was with God, and the Word was God." and maybe read the rest passage to verse 5. Then Jesus says He is the way the truth and the life and that no one goes to the Father except by Him. Hopefully this attempt will give you a platform or basis of understanding this intricate issue. Thanks.

This is a tough one! Technically they are the same, and they are different... they are three and they are one. But you'd really have to get a theologian to explain that, because three just does not equal one.
My understanding (though heretical) is that God and Jesus are kind of like two sides of the same coin, two aspects of the same thing.
But the official Christian dogma is that they are two (well, three, really, when one counts the Holy Spirit) completely distinct beings, the same way you and your mom and your dad are completely distinct. But they are also precisely the same single person, the way you are you and you alone.
I think that in separating them, and praying to God through Jesus, an important problem is brought to light. If you pray to God via Jesus, it implies that a) Jesus isn't good enough to handle the job and b) God wouldn't be receptive to your prayer unless Jesus said something to him about it. This violates the precepts of Godhood, which are that a deity must necessarily be omniscient, omnipotent, and omnibenevolent. Implication A violates the omnipotence of Jesus, thus making him a non-deity. Implication B violates God (the Father)'s omniscience (he wouldn't have known what to do without Jesus saying something) and omnibenevolence (he was waiting to improve your situation).
I'm not being a smartypants, I just think that because of the other things I've written in this answer, God and Jesus cannot and do not exist.

Jesus is God, the 2nd person of the Holy Trinity, the only begotten son of God the Father, co-equal and co-eternal with the Father and the Holy Spirit.
Jesus is the only member of the Trinity who also has a human body and a human soul, as a result of his conception by the Holy Spirit in the blessed womb of the Virgin Mary, which made his incarnation possible.
All three persons of the Trinity are perfectly united, so there is no need for us to try to separate them.
One God in three divine persons.
Baptized Christians have the right to pray to each individually, or all together.
The Holy Spirit, who facilitates every prayer, is perfectly capable of properly sorting it all out.

When I read the bible why would I need the new testament without Jesus?
Because i couldnt live a life that would please god.
I beleive there are 2 but Im not righteous before god without jesus.
Its says that Jesus is gods son and then theres a holy spirit to boot so theres 3.
Thats the trinity.
Jesus is the only way to god and the spirit
talks through the saved to teach us maturity.
Jesus is the way mankind interacts with god,
to make him pure before god.
John 3:16 For god so loved the world that he gave his only begotton son, that whosoever beleiveth on him shall not perish
but have everlasting life.
The sun and the moon and Jupiter and all the planets have a place in the sky, theres
nothing we can do to change their places.
Its the same with mankind he has a place in this world and god Jesus and the spirit have their place we can accept it or not accept it.
What is, is what is.

Put it this way :
A. God and Jesus are two separate characters.
B. God and Jesus, however, are linked together spiritually, like father and son. Therefore they are one.
C. Jesus = God and at the same time Jesus Not= God.
D. It was written in the bible "Only through me you go to the father" (or something to that effect). Therefore some prayed through Jesus as only through him your message will go to his father, essentially, god.
E. There is a need and there is no need to separate between Jesus Christ and God. They are one and they are two and they are all a third of the trinity. In essence, you pray only through Jesus.
F. The three bodies : The God, the Christ and the Holy Spirit are three. It can be treated as the indestructible heavenly body (The God), The indestructible Wise Knowledge Body (The Holy Spirit), The destructible compassionate human body (The Christ).
One body provide a heaven, one provide the knowledge, one provide the route. Three are one, and yet this one are three.
Got what I mean?

Good honest question. Many people are perplexed about these inconsistencies.
Jesus is God's son (John 3:16). He was created by God. But God is Jehovah (Psalms 83:18). God's name is rarely used in most religions. Sad, but true.
Jehovah (God) has always existed (Psalms 90:1-2). All things come from Him (Revelation 4:11). Once he created his son Jesus, they worked together to create the rest of the things in the universe before he sent him to earth to live as a human (Proverbs 8:22-31).
Early Christians understood and believed this . But later people started to incorporate different ideas of who God is - making him a 3-part god - The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. That is not consistent with what the Bible teaches. The Bible shows us this at Matthew 6:9-10 where Jesus (while he was on earth) prayed to his Father. He also says many times that the Father is greater than he is (John 14:28) and that we should only worship the Father (Matthew 4:10). He mentioned also that he did not know when the end would come - only the Father.
They are two distinct individuals. But many people have things twisted. Please get your understanding from the Bible. It is clear.

God is composed of three people. The Father the Son and the Holy Spirit. All three are God. All three are seperate. All three are one. God the Father is Jesus's father. He was the God of the Jews. He sent Jesus down to die for our sins. Once Jesus accended to heaven he sent the holy spirit down to anyone who calls upon Jesus. The Holy spirit is a helper that dwells inside of us to keep us on track. We are to pray to Jesus because he is our mediator to the father in heaven. None come to the father but through Jesus. I know its confusing, but I think I have it covered here.
The best verse to explain it is this: It is deleted in many new Bibles
King James Version:1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word (Jesus is the word), and the Holy Ghost; and these three are one.
Anti trinity people deny this verse and try to erase it from Gods word.
