I am a Hindu and my wife is a Muslim. We didnt find any difficulty in following our religions for the last 25 years. we respect each others religion and now we feel there is only one power though it is named differently. But it is a sad affair that we have to give the religion of our children in the school admission register and all applications for entrance tests and apllications for job.Now our children also married as per their choice from other casts and religions.

I think that they could be together, but raising children would be a huge obstacle. If both parents tried to instil values that they believed into the children, and some of these values conflicted it could lead to problems. When it comes down to it, if both parties are willing to compromise and to respect the other's point of view, anything is possible, but if they are too hard headed to be respectful, problems could arise.
Part of the relationship would be compromising for both parties, some important beliefes could be in conflict with the other's. Couples should be able to worship a diety together - if it divides them instead, it always means trouble. If the couple can't base their relationship on a mutuale faith, it may not be possible.

My girlfriend does not share my religious beliefs, but we've been together a long time. We're both very respectful and tolerant of each other's beliefs, and frequently talk about spirituality in open and honest ways. Being able to communicate helps a great deal.

Depends on how radical these views are. If we take a buddhist, who (only some sects) believes that women are original sin, and should take submissive roles in the home and combine it with an empowered christian woman who believes herself to be equal to men in the eyes of god.. then we might have a problem. This is just one hypothetical scenario, but a million different possibilities exist.. muslims versus christians, etc..

I have made the mistake to belive that it would not work if one person believed in one type of religion and you believed in another. I have found that threw life it can work out just fine and you have to learn to respect each others religions and work together to make it work. You have to try und understand each other and if you have the love for one another any thing is possible. May the holy one guide you.

yes they can and they should if they are trully spiritual. spritually we are all one, there can't be any differences.
we only differ in our behaviour. in that case, even people of the same religion would behave differently and hold different views.
the reason being, all our beliefs must be in line with natural principles, and that is the test.
if one's religion is not in line with unchanging principles than he or she is not trully spiritual.
being spiritual or religious, means loving unconditionally everyting in the world (not necessarily expressing it to all), having an intellect which explores the unity in diversity, and work to serve all living beings with no expectation of fruits thereof. all of the above in the right dosage and with good guidance from books and gurus.

very difficult if the religions have conflicting ideas but as long as both of you respect the others decision that you have a different religion to you and accept it things should be ok, firstly you should explain your faith and why you believe in following it and why the other person should respect you for what you believe in.

Definately, yes. Our great religion "Islam" allows moslims to get marry with christians or Jewish, and gives complete freedom to the other side, and very high level of respect and dignity. Not only this, but also our religion protects and defends the religous rights of the other side .

Yeah, sure, why not. That way you don't have to worry about a arguing point when the arguments start. Jews and Christians marry and usually it works out but the rub is always there.

Religion is like driving a car in romance.
Your both in it, and either one can drive, and both know how to get out.
